First of all, you are warned. The video is GRAPIC. It was smuggled out of the Taliban controled areas of Pakistan. I put this up here as the World needs to know who and what we are dealing with. The Taliban are savages-our involvement over there doesn't make them do what you are about to observe.

'This footage is unique, because Taliban-Pakistan tries to conceal such images'

A graphic new video, captured on cell phone and released through an Arabic TV station, has been translated and brought to English-speaking audiences, demonstrating for the first time the brutality of public stonings in the Taliban-controlled areas of Pakistan. News footage of the video was first broadcast by the United Arab Emirates-owned Alaan TV then translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute, which claims to monitor more than 100 Arabic and Farsi TV channels.

"This footage is unique, because Taliban-Pakistan tries to conceal such images," reports the Alaan TV anchor. "They know that images of the stoning of a woman should not be made public, because they might cause a rift between the movement and its supporters. As far as we know, this is the first time anyone has obtained footage of a woman being stoned by Taliban-Pakistan."

According to the report, the woman was stoned for the crime of "being seen with a man."

Now, how can the United Nations and other just stay by the wayside when they have eveidence and/or knowledge of this atrosities and crimes against women and the less fortunate (who are in the Taliban). Say what you will about the US being involved over there all these years but I sure bet you there are some women over there that are thankful the US is around.

To hear that they are now negoiating with them now as Gen Petrus is making progess and claims to be winning .... I don;t know.

They guys are real tough. Stoning women and shooting handcuffed men. Absoluted discusting.

Wonder how long it takes for certain members to come here and say this stuff doesn't happen and that Islam is the religion of love?

This is abominable, and is just another reminder why western countries should at least be very cautious about embracing Islamic power.

Say no to Sharia.

Disgusting video but excellent thread. S&F.

We should not be over in Afghanistan, or meddling in Pakistan's problems, but it's sobering to realise just how barbaric the "taliban", or whatever you may want to call these vile people, are.

Now cue the sympathisers....3....2....1

As with any culture, there will be some bad apples, just because these men did this, doesn't mean Muslims are bad

each morning, I trawl through the following news sites, rantburg, atlas shrugs, and ATS.com. the first two are full of news not shown in the MSN, if it is shown, its a week late and a dollar short. I recommend all three if you really want to know what's going on.

No disrespect but there is nothing I could read that would tell me different story than what I saw occur on the video to those 3 people.

Regardless of who they are or who the affliliate themselves with-they need to be taken out.

How about we stop trying to bring other nations to our belief system. Trying to implement democracy in Iraq and Afghanistan clearly didn't work so why continue doing something that never worked?

These countries are about 60-80 years behind us stop trying to police what they do. Is it brutal? Yes of course. But I am not going to stick my nose where it doesn't belong.

there are no excuses for this type of thing, the people in that video are barbaric, i hate things like this, i use to think humans were decent and fair, but especially in recent times, its obvious we are going backwards not forward, we are no better than how we use to act in 500 b.c., the only thing i can tell has changed is we have better technologies to torture and kill with.

there' s to many of these video's around, from to many different countries.

Yes it is disgusting. What I find most interesting are the methods intentionally being employed by the PTB & MSM to bring these issues to the forefront. This is obviously targeted toward women to garner support for continued engagement in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I know that sounds cold but apparently many EU citizens are becoming apathetic toward this continued never ending ILLEGAL war.

As an aside, I'm fairly certain many women/men/ children subject to living in a constant state of war would rather ALL their LOVED ONES be living.

Thanks to Julian Assange, the issue remains 104.000 + innocents dead.
Don't be swayed by appeals to ones emotions to lend support to an unjust cause.

The material in these videos are nothing new and when the Taliban was in power in Afghanistan, the people guilty of crimes would be shot in a sports stadium in front of scores of humanity. Below is a clip from the documentary film called Beneath the Veil and the opening scene shows images of women being shot in front of spectators at a soccer stadium.

Their dirty laundry has been out on the table for a long time. They have not changed since their days as supreme overlords of Afghanistan. Most recently as February of last year there was a seize fire and negotiations, the Taliban was given control of the Swat Valley in Pakistan as an appeasement play by the central government, and again they carried out a reign of terror on the local populace.

The usual run-of-the-mill barbarity took place with local authorities being executed, schools being blown-up, and other extreme methods of terror and control. Moreover, millions of refugees evacuated the area while under Taliban control. With time, the deal went sour and the Pakistan military launched an offensive against the Taliban to regain the valley from militant control.

It seems they have a particular view of how the world should be, and if any opposition should oppose that view, they will be brutally annihilated. This group will never honor negotiations or settlement with any government or political entity. The Karzai government is attempting to negotiate a settlement with the Taliban to end the insurgency and bring them into the political fold. However, using Pakistan's experience as an example, Karzai's efforts will fail. It is their way or the highway.

Therefore, I am at a loss as to why so many in Afghanistan are entertaining the idea of them reclaiming control in any capacity over their lives? It sounds like lunacy and desperation on the people's part to end the violence and sufferings of war. Furthermore, why would a government entertain the option for open talks and negotiations with a group that has track record of breaking any settlements made through negotiation? Still, the shocking videos in the OP are nothing new, and there will never be a kinder and gentler Taliban. If one wants to keep their head on his or her's shoulders, it is their way or the highway.

I agree with you that they have been known for their violence towards women-in afganistan.

I think the point of this story is that they now do it in Pakistan. It may not be as acceptable there and may cause problems for the Paki Gov't. That was my take

I agree. But I also state that we must stop trying to portray the believers in this extremist form of islam as normal people.

They're not.

And where does this line get drawn? Therein lies the shady ground which is creeping into other countries.

It's one thing to say let them be in their own land, but when these events start creeping further into western lands, what then? Say it's just them silly ones, let them alone??

I dunno about that.. the MINORITY of good ones are being outweighed by the MAJORITY.

The is the same as the Old Testament culture of so long ago. It really has little to do with religion as all these things had long existed when Islam appeared. So, now it is called Islamic by some but the rest of us know better. As Judaism and Christianity have learned to ignore and forget certain requirements of the OT so shall Islam, in time. These isolated areas of the world are long overdue for modernization. Who dares to do it? Too many are too cowardly but it has to be done. Perhaps the best thing to do is to bring back the British empire and reunite Pakistan with India. Then, at least, a proper authority would be in the region. An authority that would not be compromised by it's own cultural requirements.

Very interesting concept but I don't think it is doable.

I doubt there is anyway any of those peoples in the region you suggested being given back to England etc, woudl go along with it. They have been free too long to be subugated-again. IMO

I wonder how many of them learned out of those CIA textbooks we sent over to radicalize them so they'd fight better?
How can anyone use any religion to justify THAT?

Another reason too that people need to ALL be armed. For some reason a lot of women don't want guns. Heck, the way I see it, guns and power tools make us all pretty equal.
