Un-Flagging

It's a pretty simple question... why do we not have the ability to un-flag when we see that a thread is actually a hoax, or not as cool as we thought it was? Just a thought. I think it would be a cool function.

On a similar thought, maybe we should be able to un-star too. Haha.

Well mayBe you should make sure and read through the post and or thread first before flagging or staring.

Don't flag and star so quick that's all.

I have another pretty simple question: why would it be ok for you or someone else to negate my or someone else's point of view and opinion? You see, a star and a flag means that someone has agreed with or liked something about a topic and that is a personal choice that you or any other should not be allowed to negate or delete.

Maybe I misinterpreted, but I took OP's suggestion to mean Undoing one's own star and flag, not a negative point system, simply an undo button.

About the not starring/flagging too soon... it's my impression that we flag to draw attention to something. if something is being talked about and then, it's revealed to be a hoax or something like that and I think, "wow, I don't want to help draw attention to this load of nonsense anymore", I feel like I should be able to unflag my own flag.
