Your ideas for weapons?

Funny that...

I was having a conversation with a friend of mine that scuba dives. I am NOT a water person, and I told her that I would scuba dive when someone invented the UNDERWATER SHOTGUN.

This is something I once heard about. It's similiar to a "regular" rail gun except that the pellet is propelled by the ignition of a gas in the chamber which is ignited by a laser, rather than being launched by electromagnets. The test-bed of this device apparently propelled the pellet at an incredible rate, much faster than the EM gun. However, the plasma rail gun blew up when fired, the barrel couldn't handle the stresses involved. If they get that worked out...Wow.

indeed wow, hmmm interesting mabye reenforce the barrel?
or use it in space...?

Yeah, I'm going to do another search for this, I think it was British research firm working on it. What I want to confirm is it's velocity. I was told that it launched the pellet at 50-60% the speed of light! Now I admit that I'm a little...okay ALOT in doubt of that, but holy cow!! I hope I can find something about it.

One of my ideas is to make the smyge a real warship, the smyge was the test bed for the visbey class destroyer now in service in the swedish navy. I think if the smyge was a little bigger it could of served many purposes. In on of the design drawings of the smyge it could be equiped with a 40mm cannon with a stealth cupola, it also had a hatch for 40cm torpedoes, and mines. Slide hatches for equipment like dinghies, air intakes with radar absorbing material, and a hatch for twin elevatable RBS 15 lauchers located at port firing up and starboard. What I would do is replace the regular launchers with peripheral vertical launching cells, which take up less space but have more missiles. I would also upgrade the 40mm cupola with a 1 100mm EM gun, I would also put in my EM mine launching system, and make a tiny port so that special operations vehicle could dock there after they completed their missions.

hmm nice a stealth boat with the power of a battleship and more hmmm.
one or 2 things stop it though, the recoil from a rail gun would kinda rock the boat a tiny wee bit ..............ok it could capsize the boat but it could work if you got the right couter bouyancy.

yikes 50-60% ! now that would kinda be insne. the projectile is probably on its way to mars as we speak.

We could cut John Kerry open and find the gene that makes somebody a UN Pansy. Then whenever somebody won't cooperate with UN sanctions or inspectors we'll have SEALs sneak into his house and give him gene therapy in his sleep to turn him into a pinko commie UN pansy who is willing to compromise his national security so that Jacques Chirac won't forget him on Valentine's Day.

I got to thinking about what an alien race would do to us if they ever got really pissed off and wanted to kill us all.

If I had as much technology as they are likely to have I would simply cause the sun to go supernova. I obviously don't know how to do that, but imagine if you had that weapon in your bag of tricks when you were fighting alien races.

No they wouldn't. They'd either temporarily nullify or reduce gravity using anti-Higgs bosons(so every planet, moon or star in an area tore itself apart under centrifugal force) or create a black hole (by compressing atomic nuclei).

What about and EMP the size of a backpack that contains the power of that which comes when a nuclear device is detonated? I mean you could sneak a few SEALs into an enemy city and strategically place them in different areas and set them off making everything that is computerized obsolete. Wouldn't work against those terrorists that hide in holes though...oh well.

I am fairly certain that EMP bombs do exist. I remember reading about their potential use in a book co-written by casper wineburger (spelling?) at some point in the middle of clinton's administration. The book was alarmist and none of the conflicts considered therein have come to pass, but considering the people involved in the writing I assume that it was fairly well informed on the state of military technology.

The problem is that you can shield equipment against the effects of these things.

why use SF , i know thier good at stealth and stuff but they are'nt the best choice for city missions thats more MI6/CIA/mossad kinda job.

It's called a Bangalore Torpedoe. They are not filled with grenades, they are filled with C4. The concept is the tube slides into wire easily, then you add on another tube, and another, pushing them the width of the wire. When they go up they explode as one bomb and blow the wire totally away.

My ideas for weapons:

Area denial weapons, a spray-on polymer that can be spread over snow, sand, forest, whatever. The polymer stays there until a troop tries to walk across the ground sprayed with it. Then it sticks to their feet, turning their boots into too-heavy clumps of gooey dirt fast. If they try to walk through brush sprayed with it they become like bugs in a web. If it's sprayed on asphalt, vehicles just lock to it or their tracks / wheels pick up too much asphalt to operate.

Can be applied by airburst artillery, napalm-type cannisters, or aerial spray.

My idea would be to shoot a magnetic signals in to the water there by exploding unexploded magnetic triggered mines. The problem is I have no idea how I would do it, do you guys have any ideas?

well get a large electro magnet or a few and then turn them up to full that way any mine in the range will be detonated OR send it down on a UCSV and turn it on.

One of my ideas is, that i have a larger version of the X47 and put turrets on it, I would call it the sweeper, because it would destroy ground units like it was sweeping dust . It would have to me made of strong metal because of the weight it would be holding, i would have one 100 mm EM gun in the center of the plane. Two 40mm bofors on the front side of the plane and two 20MM gatling guns on the back side of the plane. Of course this is just an idea and the recoil of the guns would of course damage the plane considerably but it would be a cool plane. :cool

How about this. Quickly and greatly speeding up mo;lecules in the air causing instant heat. Or i guess he opposite creating instant freeze.

a rail gun IS a type of electromagnetic gun BUT there are diffrent types.
