I think that its not a question but an eventuallity that humans will move out into space and colonize just as naturally as life has moved out of the ocean to dry land. sooner or later we will figure out our the secrets hidden in our genetic code and prolong our short lives and overpopulate this planet or ruin it so it can no longer sustain us. the only recourse left is to reach out to a new home where are parisitic nature can continue to find new resources to exhaust.

I think that staying on this planet would be the end of the human race, we continually take from the earth and do little to preserve it leading to the conclusion that it will become unihabitable for us one day. Will you have us stay and face extinction or strike out and adapt to space so that we can make our mark among the the elite beings who have managed to find a way to move off of their homeworlds.
