OK, so the U.S. is building 14 permanant bases in Iraq? Why not just one large permanant base? I don't understand the logic there. Although I'm
guessing that there is something either logistics wise or military tactics wise that I don't understand there either...
Speaking of such, I think that the U.S. is spreading itself out too thin. Doesn't the U.S. need to start consolidating its forces? Instead of having
lots of little military bases all over the world, couldn't the U.S. have fewer, but larger, bases? Wouldn't this simplify things greatly?
For
example...
...the U.S. has military bases in the U.K. and Germany. Why not just choose one or the other?
...the U.S. has military bases in Japan and South Korea. Why not just choose one or the other?
...the U.S. has military bases in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iraq. Why not just put them all in Iraq now?
What do you think? I don't understand how the military makes these kinds of decisions...
