Here's some things about the majestic documents though:
1) They are from a variety of different sources, not just one, so you can't simply dismiss all as fraudulent because one (or more) are determined as
such. You cannot claim to be objective if you lump all of the documents together and assign a label. Some documents have obvious earmarks of being
fraudulent, others seem legitimate (and at least one has even been shown to be in official archives, though of a less sensational matter).
2) You have to keep in mind that this was all pre-Internet stuff. The consistent timeline of events, people involved, etc. represents a pretty major
research project if it was falsified, and it seems strange that such a project would have been undertaken by numerous hoax authors, for seemingly no
return on that investment.
3) The overall story that emerges is remarkably consistent for so many different sources, especially if hoaxed.
4) The website majesticdocuments.com does have some excellent info on the authenticity determination methods that were used to rate the various
documents, and folks can see for themselves what evidence supports or shoots down a particular document.
Without reading through all the docs (or repeating my existing thread on the HIstory of MJ-12), here's the quick short story that emerges. Whether
you believe it or not, is of course up to the individual, but it's interesting, that's for sure.
The story goes:
In '42, around the time of the Battle of LA incident, a small task force is put together to examine the issue of alien visitation and study it. The
group undergoes a few different name changes from "The Working Group" to the IPL, etc. before being called MAJIC (Military Assessment Joint
Intelligence Committee). The group's members change a little from the starting group, but many of the key players are senior intelligence officers
and leading scientists (just the kind of group you'd want for such a thing). The Roswell recovery (according to the docs) is the major catalyst event
that really drives the creation (and funding) of the group.
There are other minor details (such as issues of JFK and assassinations, etc.), but most of the more sensational items are in the doc/s that have the
least amount of confidence in being authentic. In addition, doesn't seem the sort of things you'd discuss in a document, no matter how secretive.
Still though, there are many docs that do ring more true, and reinforce the continuous storyline.
Who knows?
