And also if they were and are Chinese lanterns why dont you try it and do the same act as in the video?

We saw about 30 of these glowing orange shapes flying from the north to south west at a steady speed, it was a clear night with no wind, so i dont think they were anything being blown by the wind, it seemed they had there own propulsion of some sort by the way they were moving.
