Arthur B. Robinson (born 1942) is an American scientist and activist.[1] He is the founder, president, and professor of chemistry at the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine, which describes itself as a research institute that studies protein chemistry, nutrition, and predictive and preventive medicine. He is also the developer of the Robinson Curriculum, a self-taught home school curriculum for grammar school children through high school.[2][3][non-primary source needed] He is currently the Republican candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives from Oregon's 4th congressional district.[4]

So essentially according to him:
1. AIDS is a conspiracy.
2. Speed of light takes 1.5 seconds for to transmit information.
3. Public schools are bad,
4. Distributing nuclear waste over America or the oceans is a good idea.
5. Sarcasm means asking question.
6. Radiation is good for you.
7. When someone asks you a question it's a smear campaign.
8. More nuclear weapon testing is needed.
9. Negro's have the intelligence of 10 year olds and this should be taught to children.

He is a man who denies his own words. And this is the same person who created the "32,000 scientists" don't believe in global warming crap. What an idiot.

I'm organization that funded his campaign was Koch Industries, a disinformation leader who usually funds nutjobs like Robinson.

And this man may become part of congress!?

The poor woman's about the bang her head against the wall. The man is a jerk. He does sound like a nut job. Too bad he's running for office. Reminds me of a Mark Twain quote.

Suppose you were an idiot and suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.
Mark Twain (1835 - 1910) source
He ought to fit right in.

Thanks.

Every time someone tries to tell me about the 32,000 scientists against global warming petition from now on I will point them to this thread.

What an absolute joke this guy is.

So essentially according to him:

1. AIDS is a conspiracy.

If AIDS isn't a creation from a government lab, the conspiracy of no cure existing out of increasing profits for multinational pharmaceutical companies does hold quite a bit of water.

2. Speed of light takes 1.5 seconds for to transmit information.

To quote the man himself...
Maddow: One of the things that happens in satellite interviews is that there is about a one and a half second delay between me asking a question and you hearing it. ( go to 2:10 in the first video.)
Art: Uh huh!(with sarcasm.)
Art: Fine but when I start answering you start in the middle of the answer don't you.

You sir lied and not even misquoted the guy, but shifted the quote from the news anchor to the guy. You lied!

3. Public schools are bad,

Who with half a brain thinks this is untrue?
findarticles.com...
NCLB has been an utter failure, academia that is not tied to industry is leaving the country and hiring students from nations with better schools.

4. Distributing nuclear waste over America or the oceans is a good idea.

Citation needed
I did some hardcore Googling on this guy and failed to find the topic in question.

5. Sarcasm means asking question.

Maddow is very sarcastic, that's what makes her awesome. Sarcasm was being used at first until Art started to shut that down.

6. Radiation is good for you.

There is evidence to suggest that in small doses certain types of radiation might be able to ward off certain types of diseases and kill off pathogens that would eventually overrun the human body. If you listen to the first video, Mr. Robinson started to touch on that before being cut off. Perhaps I should discuss how radiation therapy is used to fight cancer.

7. When someone asks you a question it's a smear campaign.

Maddow was trying to misdirect and attribute lies to the guy and he saw through it. Mr. Robinson was correct to call that out.

8. More nuclear weapon testing is needed.

Again, cite your sources. Many people believe this.

9. Negro's have the intelligence of 10 year olds and this should be taught to children.

"The gap we do not speak of" exists and is a very real problem. In many parts of the US black students score far lower than white students, and in most cases lower than other minorities. Oh, the data is racis! SCIENCE IS RACIZ!

Again though, I failed to find a quote of this man saying that the total IQ of each black person is the equivalent of a(what exactly would be a scientific definition of a 10 year old intelligence?) 10 year old.

In fact, no scientist would ever make that statement as it is scientifically impossible to prove, as well as holds no data sets that can be measured.

It is my conclusion that after looking into the degrees and papers published by Art Robinson, that not only is he not a "nutjob", but we should listen to him based off of his knowledge and proof thereof.

You lied, misquoted, and misrepresented a scientist and then expected ATS to buy that? It is you who is the "nutjob" and you should feel bad.

this is hard to watch. 1. that guy is freaking losing his mind (or, better, lost it some time ago) and 2. maddow is permanently incapable or not being sarcastic or condescending.

not that this guy deserves to be taken seriously. just that this meeting of minds seems to bring out the worse in 2 people i'd never want to talk to face to face.

thus your video has made me bang my head against my desk. s&f

Looked to me like she was out of line. She was rude to her guest, and wouldn;t let the man answer any questions.

It was a poor attempt at a schmear campaign that Art Robinson handled well. He made this lady look silly and sound un-educated.
