I actually thought the thread might have been about an event in the distant past.
A 14 may have happened a million years ago..

I wonder if this has anything to do with current activity on the Sun?

Well seeing as it occured in 2005 I'd say it is doubtful.

My bad, I thought it was current. (I did see something like that posted here I think) not
too long ago in Michigan. That's probably the mix up on my part.

Ummmm...OP, starting this kind of thread is a very quick way to become discredited on ATS.

Perhaps you didn't mean to imply that a mag 14 quake had just occurred, but since you failed to say anything as to what your intent was in the original post, it is impossible to know what you meant by it.

As you can see, if you fail to supply good, credible sources you will be quickly shut down. Especially with that kind of a title.

Likely the last Magnitude 14 happened when the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs 65 million years ago hit.

That would have had major seismic shocks plus the Tsunami from it likely went up as far a St Louis Missouri.

Sounds like it is going to happen again.

18And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake,
such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
