Great video and research done by these folks. Hessdalen lights are either ball lightning, physical craft (least likely), or extradimensional(?) entities which appear to us as globs of light. I am inclined to believe that ball lightning and light-orb-UFOs (extradimensional entity? high-energy/density plasma?) may be the same phenomena.

Ball lightning, however, often explodes as it disappears causing damage to living and nonliving things around it, and I'm not aware of any purported UFO light-orbs doing such things, or hurting anybody. The Hessdalen lights seem to be under intelligent control, making interesting formations and maneuvers which indicate they are not just random energy discharges.

Ball lightning is a debunker's dream phenomena, since you could blame many UFO sightings on it. I think legitimate ball lightning is rarer than legitimate UFO sightings though

I'm sure some idiot will be here soon in an attempt to discredit and debunk these scientists too. Even with this much evidence from a credible source like a university it still won't be enough to admit there is something up there beyond our belief and capabilities. It's a shame really....

What do you mean "debunk it"? How is anyone going to do that? Debunk what exactly? We have no explanation to debunk, as of yet. All we know is that some lights in the sky have been filmed. What they are, we have no idea, so we have nothing to debunk.

Someone might just come and rationally seek and maybe find an explanation for it, if we are lucky. Would they be "idiots" in your mind, still?

Apparently Hessdalen is well known internationally for unusual lights in the sky. In a recent thread of mine a poster from scandinavia contributed a lot of information about that place.

For anyone who feels they are not lucky with spotting UFOs , I would strongly recommend they visit Hessdalen.

As Tetsuo mentioned above, the lights behave as if under intelligent control. This is the facinating aspect of it.

Interesting stuff! Dare I say I am reminded of flares, but, I think this is more than that after doing some research.
Here is some more info:

Great video, thanks for posting as I've never seen this before.

Blatant use of RC helicopters though

I first heard of the Hessdalen lights more than 20 years ago, when they had a higher media profile than they do now.
They were often mentioned in conjunction with similar lights seen around Marfa, Texas, and were always known as earhthlights - there was never any suggestion they were UFOS. Sightings usually coincided with seismic activity in areas of quartz-bearing rock and it was suggested the tectonic strains generated piezo electricity.
It was observed that they could act intelligently, coming out of the ground, dividing, manoeuvring over the local area then reuniting and disappearing into the ground at the original spot they emerged from, or evading jeeps trying to get closer.
However nobody thought they were UFOS, nobody ever saw lights like the RC helicopter/flares/ things usually seen over SW USA that are in this video. There was never any physical signs left, certainly nothing like slabs of turf (I'm darned if that's two tons ?! ). Earth lights have languished in relative obscurity up to now and deserve wider attention - but as an incidence of non corporeal intelligence, not as UFOs. There may be a crossover, but they are not aliens.

the golden knights skydiving team are in norway to?

seriously, great video with more substance than the usual stuff posted, i believe 100% what he said at the end of the video, and whilst i know most skeptics don't see it, pay attention to his words, they are important.

i think estimate should be objective.but suspicion always is needed,so we can debunk hoax.

Consulted several maps of seismic (Earthquake) activity. Norway appears to have very little. Seems very doubtful that Earthquake lights would be prominent in this particular area. Access to the camera images is available at Project Hessdalen website: www.hessdalen.org... Scroll down to 'station' section on left hand side of the page.

Hi Ross 54,
The electric charge is generated by the steady pressure of two bodies of rock grinding against each other, not by the actual tremor when they move and the pressure is released. The eventual tremors are usually quite minor and very local, and might not make it onto the seismographic charts.

Hi OP and All,

That one had me stumped, still does. I'm not suggesting it was a UFO or Gov dig, but that mass is heavy (tons?) and certainly not done by the average backhoe or any other known excavating machine I'm aware of.

Thanks for posting the situation

I'm watching the documentary right now, and so far it's pretty darn good.

Covers a lot of the good ones:

Battle of LA
Roswell
Washington, 1952
Japan Airlines (80s)

With a number of good interviews (Mitchell, Friedman, Dolan, Howe, et al) And I'm only half way through.

Def worth a watch.

S+F

EDIT - Three quarters of the way through, and they've brought out Jamie Maussen and the turkish UFO footage.
