ok heres some more info.....
on the 12th he tweeted "@rodclarkdotcom @josh_diamond @teradek @jennifersarahm absolutely see all of you Wed night. Get ready!"
12th tweet
Wednesday night was the 13th when everything was going down. I checked the other twitter accts that he sent the message to. Josh_diamond's was the most intriguing. He made multiple tweets about this talking about the news coverage it received and telling people to watch out for blue discs in the sky. Seems like these artists might be enjoying their hoax a little too publicly. here is the link to joshdiamond:
josh diamonds twitter
The other two recipients of the 'Get ready' tweet havnt responded as such, but this is enough to seem like a hoax to me. Still doesnt answer the question of who told him to take it down and not talk about it.
A good start here so far.

ok i see i dnt use twitter but i knew and somehow forgot that each tweet shows time and date, duh, so other than that we really cant be 100% sure that he produced that picture the same day he tweeted which leads us to another dead end, given his computer/editing skills theres many conclusions one can draw.. the photo could be a fake or genuine, why the hell is the truth so elusive!!??

To try and pin down the exact date that the image was 'tweeted' I did a little digging and came up with just 2 possible hits. Too bad no one took a screencap that day. I did find alot of hits with the url to the removed twitpic dated from the 9th but here are the two hits i found attributing his orig tweet to the 9th:

Thanks for the help! I'm thinking that they (the teacher and students) saw the pic in the nydailypost and assumed it was the balloons that they had launched on the 13th. But we've already shown that to be impossible. So...the question I come up with is, were their balloons the ones seen on the 13th? And, why did @jasondiamond take down his original pic? And how did they know 4 days in advance that the sighting would be explained away by most people as "balloons"? Which by a strange "coincidence" is exactly what @jasondiamond original pic looked like...edit on 15-10-2010 by AutOmatIc because: balloons

well the yellow balloons were not only a part of a celebration of gran via but were also apparently some kind of advertising campaign according to this : gothamist.com...
so maybe jason diamond had some knowledge of the yellow balloon release in advance, maybe hes done some work for either the company in question or the celebration.
thanks
