As the title says: Go here and check the clouds around and above UK, zoom in about 50% and you'll see quite a few coloured dots. If this has been brought up before, what is it? It might just be some markings made by whoever made the map for whatever reason, but I don't think I've seen it before.

Also, it says on the map that the map source is from Nasa and that it is updated daily.

Flaming, commence!

If what im seeing is what your talking about, the purple dots. I think its just the way the image has been rendered. They stop where that patch ends.

Thier in the US to Z0MG!!!! RUN FOR THE HILLS!!!

HAHA.. Naw. its just a mess up in the imaging thats all.. Not everything can be as perfect as hollywood... Remember NASA took a mad paycut so now they use people from Korea to make thier things work..
Oh wait.. thats animations... anyway still applies.. The s/w isnt super perfect so you have screw ups..

Its not just the UK, I see them in other places where there is dense cloud coverage,

But wouldn't they be more regularly placed then? These purple and green spots are seemingly randomized, not as densely placed everywhere, and only visible on cloudy areas (as far as I've seen).

Well im no photo expert but it looks like there just patches where the image has'nt been pixalated properly. Who knows im just giving you my oppinion. They are probaly everywhere but can only be picked out against the white clouds.
