It really is amazing how simple it is to determine what the compelling force is, the hard part is determining WHO the force is.

One theory I have for the catamaran is that one person fell overboard and the other two jumped in to save him, leaving the boat to sail off without them. This happened to my father and I when my brother fell overboard.
Really? I'd like to hear the circumstances in which this happened, b/c it sounds like you're lucky to be alive!
Didn't anyone ever tell you that jumping into water to save someone, without a floatation device, will more than likely end in you both drowning? This is b/c, unless you can get them to safety almost immediately & are not in peak physical fitness, then, whether they are injured &/or distressed or not, the chances are that you'll both run out of energy for swimming quite quickly. Also, there are very few bodies of water on earth that are even close to body temperature, thus just being in the water saps energy.
Without a floatation device, this leaves 2 options: either a) tread water vertically, which takes more energy than b) relaxing on your back & floating with just enough face out of the water to breath (which is impossible in anything but calm water). Either way, unless someone else can rescue you, hypothermia will get you in the end. Notice that even super-fit lifeguards use a float?
I just cant believe that between 3 experienced yatchsmen, this info could have slipped all of their minds. Unless they were intoxicated...
Was there any evidence of this?

Thats pretty interesting. I've never considered what/who these entities might be as much as you seem to have. Do you have any speculation to share with us? Seriously, I'm interested b/c, apart from all the various stories about crew &/or ship disappearances, many of which people seem to just put down to 'the sea is dangerous: who knows what exactly happened, but they must have simply sunk', there are plenty of tales of wierd goings on at sea.

Actually i have several related theories on Who they are, the most reasonable being that they a Djinn, created by God after the Angels and before Man. My second choice being they are entities from the next dimension over...Regardless of their origin we are no longer exclusive of them or they from us, if that is even possible. This is the Marie Celeste, this unhappy ghost ship was eventually scuttled by the owner for the insurance.

Ah, now that's very interesting, b/c I've encountered beings I believe to be related to earth, fire & water, but never air, ie djinni.
Now, I'm a student of this type of thing, no master, so all I can say is that I'm an earth sign. Most who meet me however wouldn't guess it, b/c fluidity, energy & dynamism are my trademarks (ie the combination seems like chaos). Its just that they dont see me from the waist down, if that makes sense? Actually, I know exactly what I'm about & my feet are firmly on the ground.
Do you have any direct experience of djinn? I ask b/c I'm lacking & want to know, you know?

Consider that a sudden gust of wind could have pitched the catamaran, even violently, taking all 3 crew members at once? Cats can be compromised quickly.

That the plates and silverware, sunglasses and coffee, were upright, however, does not support this idea.

Considering no storm was reported and we're dealing with experienced yachtsmen all three people just "falling in" seems kind of unlikely to me...

It's far more probable than any paranormal or unearthly cause.
