I'm not trying to argue with anyone in particular- anyone at all! I just don't see the bloom theory. They should all have exactly the same- oh, i don't know how to put it: vanishing point (?) shouldn't they?

No. They shouldn't. It depends on how the cosmic ray strikes the sensor.

So do we have any more news on the SOHO UFO, or are we still basing all of our outrageous theories on the video of all the police lights and not much else?

Those weren't police cars, they were cosmic rays bouncing off the lens.

Here's an earlier photo from SOHO dated July 22, 2010 at 12:12. Real strange, looks like a similar if not the same object described in this thread. And the time, 12:12. Strange.. I picked this up browsing so haven't confirmed the photo on NASA's site. Just thought it might be of interest.

I just checked NASA's site and confirmed that the photo on July 22. 2010 @12:12 IS the original from their website. This thing looks like the thing you all have been speaking about. This thing looks very similar to a phoenix...or an Angel. Just my opinion. Here is an enlarged image of the object.

Notice the sharp edges on the "wings". What do you all think? I don't know what to think.

OMG, did you actually make an effort to read some stuff in this tread? It has been confirmed on the first page that this picture is genuine. And that it is probably pixel-blooming...

that looks like a bigger particle with a particle trail. checked out the images before and after that, there is no objects like that on them.

however bright spots with tail are visible on other photos.
check it out

every single particle has a red glow around it. probably local contrast enhancement or simple jpg artifacts. the body/wings of the object has none of this (the nose is the real nose of the particle trail). whoever manipulated this image was a complete noob in MS Paint.

cheers!

OMG!!!I read the entire thread smart ass. Keep your condescending attitude to yourself professor. It MIGHT be pixel blooming but in my opinion pixel blooming will not show-up in varying degrees of object inclination and each photo showing the object with an obvious trail. I could be totally wrong but I'm entitled to my opinion until we know for sure so don't try to put me down for that....jerk.

It IS NOT photo shopped. It's on the NASA website and have been proven to be true photos.

Stupidity is sooooo exhausting. Go to the Nasa SOHO website and pull up the C2 images for 10-10-10 at 12:12. The photo is on NASA's website. If it is Photoshop'd then someone at NASA had to Photoshop and put it back on their own website. What would be the point of that?

I'll second that: if you aren't going to read at least a sizable portion of the thread (like maybe all of the first and second pages at least?) then don't bother inserting foot into mouth by commenting.

The images are the real deal direct from NASA; the only thing in question is what the heck are those "things"? Cosmic rays hitting the detectors causing artifacts, a solid object, some sort of field phenomena? Something else maybe?

Personally I think they are digital imaging artifacts caused by the particles hitting the detectors, but the similarity between so many images is interesting - maybe its a flaw in the detection apparatus a few microns across that go buggy when a particle hits that particular area, which could account for the similarities.

You mean the bright thing? That's Mercury and it's circling around the other side the Sun.
Here's the current view.
