I'm in Rhode Island and wish I would have seen this sooner. As of now, I'm seeing one star rather bright, but nothing unusual. Then again there are a lot of tree branches in my way.

i really wish i had a way to get a better image. the only thing i have is a 10mp camera cheapo.

sucks being poor.

i dont know anyone around here that is into the whole scene.

i know i could go to mufon but i really dont want to bother them without 100% proof.

and just seeing a bright light without any other confirmation i really cant say squat. but it is still there it has been since 9:30 but not earlier. it appeared out of nowhere. i have some friends confirming i am not seeing things lol. but that is the best i can do. my hopes are that someone else from the general area will see it and have more information.

im not freaked out or anything. i still believe it is more than likely a sat or star. but i live in a very bright city that is holding an autumn fest and it can be seen inside the field with all the stadium lights on also.

im just trying to think of everything ans there is not much. i wish i had more

(Oh, and thumbs up on keeping an eye in the sky!)

Is it moving? If it's not it is most likely Jupiter. If it's a satellite it would have moved across the sky and disappeared by now.

Upload them to ATSMedia, they give all the fancy links once you have them uploaded.

Someone else will have to give more detailed instructions, if they are needed...

EDIT--

Here is the link to ATSMedia THIS IS A LINK

I think you click tools then images, then upload them and use [ img ] Picture here [ /img ] without spaces to embed them

Take your time, and no worries on the pictures.

I enjoy the debate and discussion as much as finding "proof" (Well, I can't say that for sure since we don't ever seem to get that proof...)

Anyway, yeah, take your time! I look forward to looking at the pictures, even if they are "less than". Hell, at least you are saying it up front, instead of "OMGZ! Real proffs!!1!1"

the best one is image 2. i do not own a tripod which is why there is movement in the first and third.

sadly this is the best i can get at 10mp. i am willing to send them to anyone who wants the original if really wanted or needed. lol

i still think it is probably nothing but i just dont know

Unfortunately, it is hard to say from the photos alone.

But we have the witness right here

Anything you wish to add? Does it move? Change colors? Disappear? (Etc?)

it started as orange then went to a green then the bluish color you see. it dose seem to rotate between the colors but very slowly. that could just be my eyes playing tricks on me too.

it does move and not following the stars. it has moved quite a bit since i started looking. it has moved east a bit and north a bit. it seems strange. i live in a city with major light pollution i can not see any other stars that clearly. i can barely make out 3 other stars in the darkest part of my view.

i can say i have never seen anything this bright in the sky before. i have seen sats and they are only about 30% of the brightness.

also the pictures i took were from my back yard. i did not have any lights on by my neighbors do sadly. but its still bright enough for an olympus stylus to see it. i did not think the cam would catch it at all.

it may be easier to ask me questions that for me to know what to say. i am not that great at describing things.

Well from this description it could still be a regular celestial object.

I know there is an "eye trick" that causes stationary objects to appear to be moving. The object must be on a darkened background for it to work. I wish I knew the name of it, then I could post "proof"

Just keep your eyes on it, see if it "takes off" or "vanishes" A regular object won't do that, unless obstructed from view of course.

Keep up the good work, like I said I prefer the discussion. If it turns out to be an IFO, then at least we still had a good discussion
And you had an eventful evening!
