Looks like a buffalo that was sprayed painted in an attempt to perhaps, render its fur undesireable so poachers will leave it be?

Why is there rope around the area?

I believe it may be related to the African Buffalo, The horns seem similar.

Although I wonder, can all members of Bovinae family interbreed and create hybrids?

African Buffalo

Its a takin.
Kind of mountain goat type of animal living in the Himalayas.

As a spinner, it makes me want to pet one and see it's coat. The musk ox, cashmere and pashima goats, alpaca, and vicunas are all artic or mountainous region dwellers, and have the best, softest, warmest and lightest coats. Musk ox down cannot be sheared, it must be gathered after shedding. Called qiviut (a word game gem with a 'q' but no 'u') it is very expensive; enough fiber (about 2 oz by weight) to make a simple scarf would be around $150 dollars. Add in the labor and scarcity of the fiber and you can see why it remains something most people have never even heard of.

This animal is even an attrractive color and one I've not seen in a natural fiber before.
And I'm not talking about the purple. That is probably the fly repellent they use on the animal. I've seen similar pink polar bears in zoos.

Not exactly African buffalo...

Yes, it's a Takin as Gradius Maximus pointed out (
) ...

As for "those" being and udder...? Don't worry. Sid made the same mistake in Ice Age 3...

I saw this video on Youtube. You can find it on Youtube by searching "weird animal" and it's the 3rd or 4th one down. Here's what the person said that uploaded it (moshimoshi123)

"The takin is a goat/antelope-like creature that can be found in the Himalayas. This fellow spent the afternoon drinking from the watering fountain and scratching himself on the fence.
Sorry for the weird colors! My camera is to blame, takins aren't really purple.
