Funny how every one looked at the oil sector at the beginning of this, forgetting it takes steel and oil to make things go bang!

If Iraq had Havocs or Apaches what makes you think they would have fared any better than the US did with them in DSII. From all of the open literature the Apaches using current tactics were a disaster. The one massed attack that they tried resulted in damage to 30 and forced an abort before they even engaged the forces they had targeted. I don't really see anybody in the market for heavy tanks to use in an offensive capacity. For defence they make good sence. Thats the whole point of Saudi, Kuwait, and Egypt getting them. But thier size and weight make them a whole different animal when you have to move them to an area of conflict.

Copters are fradgile eh? Well thats why they mostly get there deliver their payload and get out of there. Plus check out what Apaches did to Iraqi tanks in the first gulf war.

Well they were able to do this because the iraqis had no proper AA defence and that's what we're saying: helis are a good way to harass and destroy an undefended target but they r way too fragile against infantry and a proper military force.

Now really tell me what helis could do against a bunch of AA platforms especially those small mobile one u can't bomb by airplanes (like stingers...)
