I've seen stunts similar to this when a station changes formats. A station here in LA looped a song for 48 hours.
I like it though very original.

I'm listening - can you imagine what their advertisers are thinking, especially since their not adveritising. . This is just plain weird, nothing on the site to indicate what this might be. The countdown has to be taped as the guy doesn't miss a beat and quickly throws in the phrases. My boyfriend is bringing it up on his Ham radio, maybe he can get some other operators in the area. I'm calling this one a Hack - what about you?

I didnt go through all the pages so if this has been posted my bad.

I have seen this once before when I lived in St. Louis. A loal radio station was bought by another company. They put a countdown on the air to let the people know thats when the "new" station will begin its new format / broadcasting.

I dont think anything sinister is behind it. Just a reminder to the people who were used to hearing whatever on that frequency before the buyout, will hear whatever after the countdown.

Its a way to keep the intrest in the channel. You go completely quiet you will face the issue of people thinking its a dead channel and might not scan back to it, / remove a pre program from the radio etc.

Cheaper to do the countdown that a media blitz.

Seems they are recapping the last 50 yrs or so, pretty cool. Voice during countdown gets annoying though.

Odd that there is no DJ's on air, at least by what the website says. So some crap radio station is going to be the end of humanity? lol

I would think this would make the local news so I'll check some media in the area.
