Lol, you post a few videos published by the IDF and you expect people to just fall for them? Yeah, that might work with people who lack the ability to think on their own, but most people on ATS need at least a hint of credability or proof before blindly believing something. In other words, that doesn't work here.

Furthermore, on a fundamental level, Hamas' whole purpose for being, is to fight against the oppression of their people, the Palestinians. They have no other goals, whether they be political, theological or philosophical. They were established for that purpose, chartered for that purpose and elected for that purpose. To fight against Israeli oppression of the Palestinian people is their whole and fundamental purpose. It would make no sense for them to do the exact opposite of what they were established to do and the charter in which they operate against. Anyone who still has two brain cells left to rub together can easily figure that out with about five minutes of research, if it's something unknown in the first place. So, these shameless attempts to peg Hamas with the actions and behaviors of Islamic extremist groups, groups who would target their own people, is obviously a bucket of straws being grasped at by you, others who only post in the Israeli threads here on ATS and the wider array of Israeli apologists. It's a form of ignorance that is too often propagated and accepted.

We try to deny ignorance here, not propagate it.

They are asking people to form a human chain to protect a home for the community. MLK and other great political activists here in America employed the same tactics. There is a huge difference in grabbing children or civillians in a gunfight to use as human shields and calling on volunteers to form a human shield (without or outside the fog of battle). Now, if as you claim that Hamas shoots and kills their own children or people on purpose and/or as a rule, then I highly doubt that they would be asking for volunteers to do the same and I seriously doubt that volunteers would respond. Use your head!

That's even saying that the translation is correct, which I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't. Spreading videos with false translations is something that Israel is famous for, though they usually just spin the translation to imply something completely different. Remember what happened with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's mistranslated words on "wiping Israel off the map"? Yeah, sort of the same kind of thing.

Furthermore, I am not the ambassador of ATS, nor Hamas but I do deny ignorance or at least I try and my goal is the truth, regardless of whether it fits my world-view, values that seems to not only have escaped you, but also evade you.

ETA: You can stick up all of the "hit pieces" you want and pro-Israeli/Zionist propaganda videos that either elude, ignore or hide the whole truth and it doesn't matter because until you have proof (and no, punditry and pro-Zionist media, is not "proof"), it means nothing.

In Gaza, the Fatah forces (played, supported and funded by Israel) created conflict with Hamas, when Hamas was elected by the Palestinian people. They clashed in the streets and since Israel and the west took the side of Fatah, of course they are going to seek refuge in a retreat towards their relative backers. Of course that last video won't tell us that, as it wouldn't be a hit piece then and more importantly, it wouldn't fit your world-view or manipulate others into the same.

The refusal by our political leaders from Barrack Obama to all but 5 members of Congress to the major media to speak out in defense of the rule of law and fundamental human rights exposes our cowardice and our hypocrisy. A public debate about the Gaza attack engages in the absurd pretense that it is Israel, not the Palestinians who's security and dignity is being threatened. This blind defense of Israeli brutality toward the Palestinians is a betrayal of the memory of all those killed in other Genocides in other times.

The lesson of the holocaust is not that Jews are special. It is not that Jews are unique. It is not that Jews are eternal victims. The lesson of the holocaust is that when you have the capacity to hold genocide and you do not, no matter who carries out that genocide, or who it is directed against, you are culpable. And we are very culpable. The F16 fighter jets, the Apache attack helicopters, the 250 pound smart GBU39 bombs are all a part of the $3 Billion dollar aid we give to Israel. Palestinians are being killed tonight with American made weapons. But perhaps our callous indifference to human suffering is to be expected. We (after all) kill women and children on an even vaster scale in Iraq and Afghanistan.
