Help me out Patriots...

Good day all, its about time for me to go on a rant and i would like your thoughts on this...

I recently posted a thread about a recent TIME article that was written about my own militia group in Ohio, The OHIO Defense force (ODF)

abovetopsecret.com...

Now initially I didnt think much of the article until i read it all and realized what they had done to us. The ODF has been around since 1989 and done nothing but good things, including disaster relief during a flood in which police had asked for help in a bad situation. Like good Americans, these fine men went and did what they had vowed to do, help their community.

I am a former marine who has served in Iraq and believe me, i know the importance of the morals in which they stand, which include no different than active duty. They believe in protecting the constitution, helping their community, state, and government during times of disaster and whatever may happen to require assistance.

However, in this article, they group us as an extremist group who are no different from supremacists and radical extremists. They compare us to timothy mcveigh, and several other terrorists that have nothing to do with what we stand for. The more i read this the more angry i became, and its not just me, as the whole ODF is angry at how they had portrayed us. It is as if they were angry they did not find the radical extremists they had hoped for, and in that circumstance they went ahead and wrote about other individuals who have done terrorist acts, to say what they think we would do.

They titled the article "The Secret World of Extreme Militias"
for one, the photographer told me when i asked him, that he thought we were very tame, and they were hoping for something more radical, so why do they call us extreme? Also, it was no secret, they came there rather freely.

this is a video, that actually shows a little more of the true nature of the ODF which was not really promoted by them as much. entitled "Inside the Militia: The Ohio Defense Force" (rightly titled)

www.time.com...

This was a good video as it shows thing more truthfully than they had in the article.

whats worse, is after that video, this journalist (the journalist i had talked to) goes on CNN and talks about us something horrible (i mean look at the guy, hes a complete weenie!)

Militia groups a real threat to the U.S.

I want to end with a quote by a very famous man

Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it

that quote is by Adolf Hitler, and should be taken to heart. It has now been adopted by the media and is in common practice. Often times, people beleive a militia is bad, and they dont know why, but i do. its because the media tells them, and its said so often, that to them it become truth.

please help me out and let me know that all of you patriots out there agree with me that its bulls%@T that those who have accepted the task of defending the constitution are now automatically placed as a terrorist and extremist?

Am I an extremist for loving my country and constitution and commit to defend it!?

thoughts please, lets mix it up!

the media reports on stories.

responsible milita whom are not ready to start shooting at public officals...not a big story as thats the norm.

Can you imagine if the media started doing coverage of things that weren't stories? how incredibly redundant would that be?

"Tom, I am here at the McDonalds on happy drive. There has been no reported crime. as you can see, the patrons are simply eating their meal."
"Thanks alot Steve, we will check back in as nothing happens."

wild absurd antisocial events make news...when a milita person plots and plans a takedown of the elected government...ya, thats fairly antisocial behavior...but that only reflect that one person or sect.

Because they are trying to demonize the militia movement, as it stands in the way of absolute control of the people by the government. I believe that the government's ultimate goal is to completely outlaw guns but that isn't going to happen quietly so long as there are militia out there. If the government and their propaganda wing (MSM) demonizes them now, then it will be much easier to get them out of the way when it comes to time to play ball. It also helps drive people away from that movement or keeps them from heading over there. Lastly, it helps indoctrinate the American people to believe that the militias are not the "American way", when they most certainly are.

The government and their propaganda wing, the MSM, are masters at indoctrination. They have indoctrinated the people to believing that we shouldn't have liberties and that we serve the government, instead of them serving us. What's even moe crazy, is that they were able to indoctrinate us in this way, even as we were condemning the USSR, North Koreans and Cubans for the same mentalities.

After decades of educational and professional brainwashing, the fact that other well educated and/or well off people could respectfully disagree makes these people's world start to crumble.

The "Military Industrial Complex" is made up of:

- CIA
- DoD
- certain corporations
- billionaires

Since the "militia's" threaten at least one of the above, some of those "certain corporations" (the ones who own media outlets) work to damage credibility of the discussion. If you do that, you completely destroy the credibility of the organizations that come out of the discussions.

When TPTB decide the general population is sufficiently indoctrinated against militias and the 2s amendment they will move om you. Watch the polls to see which way the wind blows. When they think they can away with it you are first on the list.

If those guys slandered you so bad, you need to get a hold of a good lawyer (A contradiction in terms, I know) and sue the living crap out of them. And while you're hitting them in the pocketbook, hit 'em where its really gonna hurt 'em; Demand a public retraction and correction of their libelous stories.

Patriot Movement: The “patriot” movement is a general term used by its members to describe the collective movements and individuals on the extreme right wing. In one form or another, this practice dates back many decades; in the 1930s, many on the far right referred to themselves as “superpatriots.” In the 1960s and 1970s, it was common to refer to the “Christian Patriot” movement, but this term is less common now than then. Among the types of individuals that can be found within the “patriot” movement are white supremacists, sovereign citizens, tax protesters, militia members, and sometimes antiabortion or anti-environmental groups.

*The key criterion for inclusion of a term, phrase, or name in this publication is the likelihood that investigators and prosecutors may encounter it during the scope of their duties. The fact that an entry appears in this publication does not imply a connection to illegal activity. As an example, the location Waco, Texas, appears in the glossary. Investigators may hear reference to this location while working on certain antigovernment cases. Many terms and names appear under one or more individual entries. For this reason, a concerted effort was made to create a thorough index, allowing for a comprehensive search of terms of interest.

info.publicintelligence.net...

The DoJ has labeled you as such. The media is just following what the DoJ says.
You, sir, are a "Patriot" and to be watched. You are also an evil "Constitutionalist"

Constitutionalists: A generic term for members of the “patriot” movement. It is now often used to refer to members of the sovereign citizen or common law court movement. Sometimes the word “constitutionist” is also used.

I have no problem with the idea of militias but you have to admit from an outsiders viewpoint, someone who lives on the coasts it has to seem pretty strange.

From their perspective its a bunch of adults in camo playing soilder in the woods. It is extreme when you're not used to it.

Thanks for your support, at least we still have a few individuals who do not need the media to tell them what to think.

Locked and Loaded, Safeties Engaged:
The Open and Public World of Mainstream Moderate Citizen Militias
By C. Walter

Camouflaged, silent and soaked to the bone by the chilling rain the main force of the assault team walked swiftly towards the front gate of the old prison. The team knew they were about to enter into a brutal struggle against a numerically superior force, entrenched in a fortified position. Team members were on the edge of hypothermia, exhausted and one was hobbled by a seriously torn calf muscle. Despite the difficulties and the terrible odds of success they pressed onward into a hail of frightening gunfire. They knew their mission and the importance of achieving their objective. “ The year is 2014 and a new breed of neo Islamic terrorism and outlaw Motorcycle Gangs is rampant in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio…the current White House administration is pro-Muslim, Sharia Compliant and has ordered a stand down against these groups, citing the First amendment. These groups have undertaken a brutal campaign of terror, rape, theft and murder. The mission: destroy the compound and fracture the communication and leadership of the opposition. The unit was ordered to go in “sterile” to avoid subsequent reprisals to their families and communities. As it widely known by these groups past behavior, anyone captured can expect a brutal and torturous end at the hands of the terrorists. After sitting in the rain for four straight hours the teams moved into their final position for the assault. The two assault elements moved in quickly using a coordinated attack to draw the enemy out of their fortified position. The misty, quiet dusk hours were cut by staccato bursts of fire from semi-automatic AR 15s and AK type rifles. Once past the rear gate the assault team of Red 1 took up position to lay covering fire for the second assault element. Under the cover of the initial attack the main force struck through the front gate. The team was immediately engaged in a brutally close in firefight. The main force broke into two elements, with one group covering the entry into the objective. The command post assault was met by thundering fire inside the tight confines of the building. The assault took only a few minutes but for those in the thick of it, it seemed like an eternity. The objective was reached and a smoke canister was lit to simulate the destruction of the command center. The assault team regrouped outside and began exfiltration under a continuous hail of gunfire. The main force ran along a narrow corridor of covering fire to exit the compound. In a scene reminiscent of the Mogadishu Mile team members were running as fast as possible under the weight of their equipment, made even heavier by hours of cold rain, exhaustion and injuries. Each member made sure no one was left behind. The conclusion saw men retching, limping and helping one another to the rally point. They were still in shock from the experience of the last few hours. They all prayed it would never come to pass in our great nation but knew if it ever did they were willing to step up to the plate. The weekend’s training was the culmination of the previous year’s training, and was intense at a level usually experienced by active duty military. The Ohio Defense force, a Militia Organization made up of a cross section of Ohio citizens stands ready to offer assistance to any mission they are tasked with. The members involved in the training exercise were all exhausted from the bad weather, terrain and the intense battle simulation. The fighters used blank ammunition to more realistically simulate a combat environment and still be able to operate effectively. They also train with live ammunition at approved ranges to reinforce marksmanship and firearms safety. Due to recent increases in the cost of ammunition many members buy their ammunition in bulk. Just like their forefathers on the Continental Militias they understand the necessity of firearms ownership and proficiency with their arms. They also help teach others these skills and safety with Hunter safety, NRA firearms safety, and Concealed carry classes. The members come from all walks of life and therefor a great variety of firearms are seen. All the firearms are legally owned and meet the requirements of the Ohio Revised Code. Hunting rifles, old surplus bolt action rifles and more modern civilian copies of military style rifles are seen in use. The premise being that in an emergency situation you have to use what is available. Some members own legally registered Class 3 firearms (machine guns, suppressors etc.) and are allowed to use them with the proper permits. Firearms safety and legality are strictly enforced. Members who use or carry illegal firearms or equipment are dismissed from the group and have also been reported to authorities. The ODF trains for standard infantry operations as well as community service, Search and Rescue, Disaster Relief, medical training and various survival topics. Members of ODF see their role in a disaster or national emergency as the back-up to the existing civil authorities. It is very likely that those entities will be overwhelmed by the task at hand. Teams study methods of water supply, security, communications and food preparation. Members also learn how to use discarded materials to make needed supplies. The military tactics are the last line of defense that ODF seeks to employ. ODF is open to all people regardless of race, Creed, religion or political affiliation. What sets ODF apart from other groups like shooting clubs or re-enactors is the understanding that in the age of terrorism and potential societal collapse, the possibility of having to use their training is real. The hope among all of the members is that it won’t be needed. The group emblem is a citizen holding a musket and wearing the clothes of a Colonist. This serves to represent the historical significance of the Minuteman and Citizen Soldier. The activities of ODF are seen by their members as a duty of a citizen, not unlike voting, jury duty or community service. The symbol does pose a question, but not a frivolous one; who are the Redcoats. ODF does not define who that may be other than those who actively attack the Nation or the Constitution. Some members interviewed candidly expressed concern that current politics in general could represent a threat to the constitution. Other elements of criminal society also represent a significant threat to American society in the event of social unrest. Drug Gangs, Outlaw Motorcycle gangs, Militant Racial supremacy groups and true anti-government groups will take advantage of civil authorities being overwhelmed in the event of an emergency. Most groups have actual plans of action for just this situation. Racial, Anti-religious or antigovernment idealism is not consistent with or allowed in the ODF. Those elements are completely against the core values of the United States and the ODF. Past members who engage in that kind of rhetoric have been shown the door. “I don’t know who the redcoats are,” says Brian Vandersall, 37 who designed the exercise and tried to tamp down talk of politics among the members. “It could be U.N. troops. It could be Federal Troops. It could be Blackwater, which was used in Katrina. It could be Mexican Troops who are crossing the border.” Or it could be, like in the exercise, a group of Islamic terrorists marauding unchecked due to a new surge in attempts to mainstream the Muslim religion and Sharia Law into American culture. During the exercise the actual opponents did not look the part due to simple basic logistic and the fact that they were told the raiding force was actually the terrorists. The description of the occupying force as a platoon strength unit with military grade hardware, communications, encryption capability and vehicle support was actually rather accurate. The Militia was training to fight against a numerically superior and intimidating hostile force. The description thereof was meant to present a serious challenge to the lightly supplied ODF teams. The ODF would not seek to fight against LAWFUL authorities of the BATFE, FBI or National Guard. In the past service in the civilian militia was seen as an honorable and just duty. Our country was built around the premise of every citizen being willing and able to fulfill their duties to the nation. The civilian militia was also the check and balance to the possibility of Government attempting to subjugate the populace. In WW2 invasion of the Continental United States was deemed by most Axis and Pacific forces as impossible because,” behind every blade of a grass there would be a rifle.” Men who were unwilling to serve in the Military, Home Guard or vital industry were issued a baby blue set of clothes to wear. This signified their dishonor and shame. Militia Soldiers where authorized and required by the constitution. They were and are afforded Military rank and still retain the honor of the Salute. Somewhere in the nineteen sixties anti-government and militant racial groups were branded with the term, “Militia.” From that point on the honored title of Militia was stained. Many people took the opportunity to capitalize on the now stained term. Militia was now applied to any person or group who stated they would use violence to advance their ideal. The entity of the militia as a force to preserve the founding principles was perverted to represent any group that opposed the US government in any fashion. The scattered events (Waco, Ruby Ridge, Oklahoma City, and Montana Freemen) in the last 30 years have dubiously been applied to so-called militia groups. Recent changes in the social dynamics of the United States have found a new interest in the true purpose of the Militia as defined by the Constitution. Citizens who are seeking to join the Militia are not looking to overthrow the US Government. They are seeking to guarantee the preservation of our Country and its way of life. They seek to be part of the solution for maintaining order in the event of a successful terrorist attack against the infrastructure of our nation. They stand ready to preserve and rebuild after natural, social or economic disasters. They are as honorable in their intentions as the Soldiers, Marines, Sailors and Airmen in distant lands defending the ideals of freedom and democracy. They are motivated by the same love of Country and their dedication to service as elected officials who stand against corruption and partisan politics. They have done nothing to take away from the American ideal. They have secured the safety of the Ideal.

also the Time issue was released today dated Oct 11 with us on the cover. My wife is on page 3 lol, which I gave her such a hard time about (I call her a supremacist and an extremist now lol)

Anyways, i cant wait till I show her parents lol...if you can imagine, the usual parents in-law tension, but this will just be hilarious. they will be so distraught lol.

Hey there gator!
Media and government tone towards militia keeps many people away (myself included). If SHTF, I'm down with whatever local groups I agree with. Other than that, I don't want the unnecessary hastle or intimidation from "the man."

If I feel this way, rest assure there are others. I support you and the ODF. We're in the same state, if s# does hit the fan, expect me to come looking for you guys

Best wishes.
