Iran says several held for spying on nuclear sites

af.reuters.com

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran has arrested several people it believes were spying on its nuclear facilities, a news agency quoted the intelligence minister as saying on Saturday.

"We are always facing destructive activities by these services, and, of course, we have arrested a number of nuclear spies to block the enemy's destructive moves," the website of state run Press TV's reported.

The report gave no details and did not specify whether the arrests were linked to a virus Iran says infected computers at its Bushehr nuclear plant, which has yet to start working.

OK here we go....

So who do you think? CIA, Mossad, MI5 or just plain Iranian paranoia? Well any case they arrested some people and are charging them with spying. With the recent cyber attacks it was only a matter of time before the witch hunt began.

Anybody want to place bets as to who they will blame first?

All of the above, of course. They are both paranoid, (always have been - to a pathological degree) and are being spied on to boot.

The culprits? Hm. Such a smorgasbord of possibilities. The U.S. and Israel come to mind.

No bet would be wise against Iran blaming .... Israel/Mossad and America/CIA..... lol cmon thats like who are the smurfs going to blame? Gargamel duh..... I hope this little Nuclear Iran issue is solved soon, every country should be allowed to develop their own nuclear capabilities..... cmon if Iran wants to nuke Israel it would be cheaper to use dirty nukes in Israel and in an international sense would take heat off of Iran when they claim independent terrorists committed the act

Well that was a little tongue in cheek of me.
I'm just curious how they are going to try to connect the dots and how they will want to play this out if true.
Stay tuned.

in another thread on here today i came up with this idea:

that the only western "spies" that have been in their country of late was the russian technicians

my theory goes it was the russians to milk the iranians for more $$.

blames goes to us/isreal you know most obvious choices are usually the right ones-not lol

Nice find Slayer. It will be interesting to see who they target for this, although if they don't target USA/Israel, I would be shocked.

Things keeping getting hotter and hotter between these guys. There has to be a tipping point eventually.

Ha ha that's a technicality. Although your Reuters article does side step the Stuxnet attack, so...

The report gave no details and did not specify whether the arrests were linked to a virus Iran says infected computers at its Bushehr nuclear plant, which has yet to start working.

We will just have to peacefully coexist unlike the Iranians and Israelis!

Sorry, I and BRL posted at the same time and I wasn't aware of his thread.

In light of that and your request, thread closed.
