Hi Guys,

Our American friends probably have already seen this, but after seeing numerous adverts for this series I eventually checked the site and found this:

An emotional high-octane conspiracy thriller, this much anticipated new US series makes its UK premiere on Channel 4 this autumn, just weeks after its American debut. Sean Walker (Jason Ritter) is an everyman who, while investigating the mysterious disappearance of his fiancée Leila (Sarah Roemer), unwittingly begins to expose the biggest cover-up in U.S. history. Sean's quest sends ripples through the lives of an eclectic band of strangers, including newly elected U.S. President Martinez (Blair Underwood), Sophia (Laura Innes), the leader of a mysterious group of detainees, and Sean's shadowy father-in-law (Scott Patterson). Their futures are set on a collision course in a global conspiracy that could ultimately change the fate of mankind.

Looks like a new, upcoming series, not sure what it's about though exactly. Any American's care to enlighten???

Its a good show my friend. Seen the first two episode already. Its about an Alien race here on Earth and their agenda. They were captured in the 40's by the US gov and hidden away in the north Pole but not all were captured so now the others have a plan. Its a story that also has a black president, a plane attack and some other similarities. Worth a watch. Enjoy

Hey Death Kron thanks for the heads up!

I'll definitely give it a watch see what all the fuss is about. Some other good news for the UK. The new series of 'V' is coming to Channel 1 (as in Virgin 1, freeview 21).

I would suggest to put a big fat SPOILER ALERT on the first post, if not the title. many here on ATS will start giving away every single aspect to completely destroy the whole fun of watching.

is it a good series? after 2 episodes, I will say I am generally frustrated at the slow pace...

I thought it was silly when they showed the aliens are actually reptiles and are born from snakelike beings that evolve. and dont get me started on the center earth discussion they were hinting at.

aka, just watch it...you will know after a couple episodes if its your cup of tea or not...and again, toss the spoiler alert.

I just read your whole post by accident, ha ha.

I thought you meant the spoiler should be put in the OP for some reason.

Naa, just the words "spoiler alert" to warn people whom would want just a thumbs up or thumbs down without hearing of the plotlines, twists, etc...
like watching a movie with someone whom already has seen it..."Ooh, watch this part, he is going to get killed...ready..."
sadly, I have to kill people like that.

I'll add spoiler to the thread title as people have discussed some of the plot.

I think it's a very good show, it's worth a watch for sure.

One thing that annoys me is that, after like 2/3rds of the first episode, you realize it is simply going to be one of those shows that never gets to the meat...a old method they used on the x-files where the viewer constantly is on edge episode after episode that the proof will finally be established..and it never does.

You can tell that method will be used in this whole series...and that in itself is enough reason to simply turn away from it. its a trap.

If this was a miniseries, then I would be exceptionally interested in seeing how it unfolds, but considering its a series, well...I believe this will be a dismal failure...

This is like...hmm...Stargate in regards to the disclosure of the program to the world. Stargate attempted to mirror our reality now, and so, since the world was not disclosing stargate tech, then neither would the program...
the only time this really annoyed you though is when there was earth based missions and such...but the program tried to focus away from disclosure and instead told a story of other worlds and adventures.

This program is almost 100% focused (so far) on the disclosure part, but...again, since the world has not disclosed ETs amongst us, the program will not either....so it is almost doomed to failure unless they go off track of our world (problem...they timestamp things, so you cannot argue that its like 10 years from now or anything).

I don't know if I would recommend this program actually...I was excited about be premise, but the execution so far has been absolutely horrible and the outlook for it to improve plotlinewise seems dismal.
