Terror level here hasn't been raised from "severe" to "imminent" according to sky news, so hopefully this is all fearmongering by Fox and their sister station Sky.

Unless France and Germany are the targets of any supposed attack.

Very strange that they keep saying Hillary might have new intelligence, yet we are all told to crap ourselves whilst only Americans are in any "danger" because for some reason only bullets harm American's, and she won't actually tell the media anything specific yet except :

"It's clear and the plot is clear. The clarity of detail on the plans for these attacks is disturbing," the official told Fox News.

What exactly is clear??? Which transport hubs, and which restaurants??!!

Maybe a "false flag" attack will be used to distract us all from protesting against government austerity cuts, as the French have been actively protesting in the hundreds of thousands today and earlier in the week.

Thats what I said was kinda funny in my opening post, the way the article was when first published stated, a vague warning with no particular target being named. It reminded me of so many threads on here that say something will happen just not gonna tell you what. If thats the case hell anyone could do that job not be specific about anything.

So i guess all them threads with people replying to me and yelling, "America doesn't have to defend us" is not flaming? I was simply correcting what I said so people will understand.

Numbers don't lie, that's obvious, America is going down the drain thanks to our military and imperialism.

No it isn't, it's people disagreeing.

I know that's not what you meant, but you have to understand that context in text only format can be a little difficult.

And yes. It will only be a matter of time before the US is forced to pull back from the rest of the world. Until then terrorist attacks will be common. And anyone following the Statist doctrines overseas will still be dealing with it long after we've left.

Flaming probably wasn't the right word as they weren't being agressive, rather defensive.

Anyways, you are correct just as Ron Paul is. Imperialism cannot last in a nation with such a fragile economy that is not self-sustainable, either we give up the empire or we collapse. It will be like what happened to great Britain after WW2 how their empire started to fall, but their nation remained influential.

Oh I don't know, maybe it's due to centuries of warfare that made Europe understand that sometimes it is better not to spark large scale arm races - which results in millions of deaths. There is a historic reason for reducing our military spending.

I think that's quite obvious isn't it?

Why does everyone think I personally said that America defends Europe!? That is not what I said!

The US Military and Media are the ones telling Americans that, not me. Before you start flaming me try reading the context a reply was wrote in.

Apologies if i came across a bit unfairly, your totally right the media is to blame and the media is ruining this planet. I wish instead of the "internet kill switch", there was a "TV kill switch" and someone would press it

This article makes no sense. First it states: "European and U.S. officials have not identified any specific targets that terrorists might be considering", then it goes on to say: "It's clear and the plot is clear. The clarity of detail on the plans for these attacks is disturbing,"

After that, the article reveals that the planned attacks are the very same that were foiled last week, when the plot was "severely disrupted" by intelligence sharing and attacks on the plotters in Pakistan.

Furthermore, the article says "The implications of a blanket "travel warning" for all of Europe could be big.", followed by a description of those implications, even though the article begins by saying an actual 'travel warning' was never even considered.

Typical Fox News fear mongering I suppose.

www.wgrz.com...

As confusing as the report is it is being reported by AP also, so it isn't just Foxnews fearmongering.

Well, at least the AP article is devoid of contradictions and has less mays, coulds and mights. Also, it lacks the fear mongering part about the travel warning that Fox added.

Agreed. Fear mongering sells though, kinda sad when you have to add fear to an article discussing terrorism. Weather it be foreign or domestic it's all the same to cause people to live in fear.

These terror alerts are beginning to get tiresome. Moreover, it is becoming a boy who cried wolf scenario. As far as I am concerned, if an attack is not imminent or with a verifiable location; why get the public in a tizzy over nothing? Plus, Europe is in an economic slump as well as much of the world and every time one of the fanatics makes a threat they have to mobilize emergency services which at great expense to the taxpayer for nothing.

Furthermore, it also heightens stress levels with all the searches of regular people, checkpoints, and the curtailing of essential rights and liberties in addressing the perception of a threat. I am not advocating western governments to rescind their alertness levels, but to be a little more mindful of how it affects the people in whom they serve. Peoples lives are already hard, and why worry them with threats from some nut in the caves of Pakistan having to much fun his laptop.

I was thinking about this last night, and had a thought-bubble concerning the recent travel warnings from the UK and US, I am sure more will follow.

I think its well established that much of Europe is more progressive (to use that term) than say the UK and US, and there are massive civil uprisings taking place (as oozyism has pointed to), it is my conclusion that another motivating factor in this decision to declare a travel warning is the following:

The US and UK want to limit their citizens exposure to what the Europeans are protesting, because some of the ideas may prove to be attractive.

I smile everytime I see a news broadcast about massive demonstrations lately, because it seems that at each and every one of them, there are people waving the anarchist flag, communist party banners, anti-neoliberalism signs etc etc.

People are beginning to see the real causes of problems, and that idea is scary for those in control.

Let the games, Begin!!
