Caught an object making odd maneuvers after about 10 minutes looking around with my Night Vision. Time was 10:30pm facing South but about 70 degrees up in the sky and was moving closer and closer to 90 degrees up. This object changes direction many times as well as speed. I lost it when it flew too high to see and then couldn't find it again. Object was a blue/white light to the naked eye

That has all the characteristics of a bat in flight.

Well the video maker says the object was blue and white to the naked eye. So he actually ruled out bats or birds. Im sure people know what the hell a bat or bird look like.

L1U2C3I4F5E6R.....

Im sure people know what the hell a bat or bird look like.

But.....some people just do the "Youtube thing" to get attention, even when they know the truth of the matter.

Having looked at many videos posted on here of bats flying at night, I think the video shows a bat......or maybe.....possibly a bird.....I sometimes have difficulty deciding which is which.

I think I can even see the wings flapping.

Kind regards

Yes the video maker does say that, doesn't he?
So?

Looks to high to be a bat.

Bats tend to stay at low-altitudes in built up areas (Woods, building estates, Etc...) due to their diets.

Could be a bird though.

Peace.

Notwithstanding I have seen bats flying as per the op's video.....

How do you know how high it is?

It is pretty cool. I wish you weren't moving the camera. Trying to see if any other objects in frame also move unpredictably. Seems like the sky is teeming with movement but I only looked at it quickly. You know I "heart" you but bats don't glow, Phage.

Sort of, but the straight flight looks less erratic than a bat, and pretty high up. I was thinking bird, but it sure looks like a satellite ...till it turns. Plus, he looked at it with naked eye and saw light.....I guess.

Will night vision pick up an animal that bright that far away? Compared to the stars in the background that is.

Considering the dot size, an animal would be cruising along pretty good.

They don't have to glow.
All they have to do is reflect light. Night vision gear amplifies very dim light sources, that's what it's for.

Why do you think it is very far away? With a wide angle lens it could be quite close. Being close, it's apparent speed could be quite high.

I don't know the true height of the object in question, but judging by the magnfication of the camera it looks very high. The stars in the background look far to big to be taken from "eye level" which leaves me to believe the UFO is quite high

Peace.

The stars look big? Stars are point sources of light. Even with a telescope they are point sources of light. They are far too distant to change apparent size with magnification.

I guess it could be closer than it appears, but it "looks" just like a satellite in the video. It would be nice to lock the video to the stars and plot the flight path. Also a little gamma correction might show wings.
I'm sure it's something explainable.

You see wings?
I got pretty good peepers, and I can't see em.

[edit] Looked once more, and do see the light level go up and down. Perhaps you are right.
I mean..maybe!

Have a good one.

SLaPPiE.....

On a big, high res monitor, I think I can see movement around the object that is strongly indicative of flapping wings.

Kind regards

Yea, The more I look at it the more I see it too.
Star for you, for helping me see the light,,,or the wings as it were.

This is true. I saw what could possibly be wings, but I attributed it to the object maybe spinning around like a cement mixer, while moving forward, giving it a wobbly effect.
