I don't think this is a joke either...

www.worldnetdaily.com...

Here are some sample passages:

-Mark 1:4
Authorized version: "John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins."

New: "John, nicknamed 'The Dipper,' was 'The Voice.' He was in the desert, inviting people to be dipped, to show they were determined to change their ways and wanted to be forgiven."

-Mark 1:10-11
Authorized version: "And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him. And there came a voice from the heaven saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

New: "As he was climbing up the bank again, the sun shone through a gap in the clouds. At the same time a pigeon flew down and perched on him. Jesus took this as a sign that God's spirit was with him. A voice from overhead was heard saying, 'That's my boy! You're doing fine!'"

-Matthew 23:25
Authorized version: "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!"

New version: "Take a running jump, Holy Joes, humbugs!"

-Matthew 26:69-70
Authorized version: "Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, 'Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.' But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest."

New: "Meanwhile Rocky was still sitting in the courtyard. A woman came up to him and said: 'Haven't I seen you with Jesus, the hero from Galilee?" Rocky shook his head and said: 'I don't know what the hell you're talking about!'"

-1 Corinthians 7:1-2
KJV: "Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: [It is] good for a man not to touch a woman. Nevertheless, [to avoid] fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband."

New: "Some of you think the best way to cope with sex is for men and women to keep right away from each other. That is more likely to lead to sexual offences. My advice is for everyone to have a regular partner."

-1 Corinthians 7:8-7
KJV: "I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I. But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn."

New: "If you know you have strong needs, get yourself a partner. Better than being frustrated."

A voice from overhead was heard saying, 'That's my boy! You're doing fine!'"

Now that's just funny

Given the level of current poor reading skills among many of the English-speaking groups and the poor understanding of more formal English, I'm not surprised. What IS amusing is some of the shrieks from the "If King James' English was good enough for Jesus..." group. The translations are reasonably accurate, and Paul did indeed say that if are unmarried and celibacy isn't for you, then find yourself a compatable sexual partner.

Personally, I'm waiting for the 1337 \/3r$i0n 0Ph th3 BiBl3

King James Version is the only decent bible out there. It has more text and has not been tampered with.

Very interesting, if you research it you will find that I think it is either the NIV or another modern version of the Bible, the "academics" who played with it to change the words, spoiled the original KJV to make it more "accessable" to todays english, some times even removing VITAL stuff like "these three bare testimony in heaven the Father the Spirit and the Son and these three are one" up to calling Jesus in Revelations the Morning Star..or using the same name for Lucifer instead of Son of the Dawn, the people who were involved in changing and modifying the bible, some strange things happened to them....one went blind another died...this is FACT and not some superstitious bull..it happened..they played with Gods word and harsh things happened to them. Research it, you will find I am not lying.

This is getting out of hand. God strictly forbids "Changing" His Word. I have seen some scholars refer to this as worse than comitting Murder in Gods Eyes.

yes, but there are already many versions of the bible, rewritten for better understanding. Do you read the bible in it's orginal language? I would guess not.

I dont see how this new bible version promotes fornication. It is just translating the other version to more informal english (the dipper=the baptist if someone didnt get that one)

The bible has always promoted fornication, under the confines(couldnt think of a better word) of marriage.

Genesis 1:28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth..."

Now if that isnt telling two ppl to go off and fornicate together to their hearts desire, idk what is

I have many versions of the Bible, and NONE say anything of the sort. I am even more sickend by the approval of teh Anglican Church. In no way did Christ say anything of the sort. It is the first PC bible

This is not true. What he said was find a spouse not a sexual partner. A spouse is distinctly different both today and then from a sexual partner. In Jesus day they had prostitutes and temple harlots and even illicit sex like they do today and Paul never suggested that anyone engage in this kind of practice. What he suggested was to find a spouse. In other words to find someone with whom you can commit yourself for life to in order to create a stable bond by which you can rear a family. For the commitment to have sex with anyone needs to carry with it a willingness to have children with that person and be bonded to them for life. That is a biblical definition of holy sex. And yes the Bible says that sex between a married couple is holy and good.

Totally agree with you Johannmon. I had posted based on a quick read (totally missing byrds post as well-cept for the 1337 comment) and now that i have read the site, I would like to say i truely hope this is a fake article.

They took all the powerful words and softened them to fit our new culture. Its terrible

Well if you mean the "new" version, no it is not a joke. Some will think it is real. Sad IMHO.
