Gunman opens fire at UT in Austin, kills himself

AUSTIN, Texas — A student wearing a dark suit and a ski mask opened fire Tuesday with an assault rifle on the University of Texas campus before fleeing into a library and fatally shooting himself. No one else was hurt.

The shooting began near a fountain in front of the UT Tower — the site of one of the nation's deadliest shooting rampages more than four decades ago, when a gunman ascended the clock tower and fired down on dozens of people.

I'll post more as it becomes available. Well how did I miss this one earlier? Another shooting. This country is going to pot.

Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo expected the school to be "completely open and back to normal" by Wednesday morning.

Authorities identified the gunman as 19-year-old Colton Tooley, a sophomore math major. His parents did not immediately respond to a message left by The Associated Press.

From the sounds of things he had many, many easy targets that he skipped. He wore a mask, indicating that he planned to escape and not be identified. He had at least 2 accomplices, another shooter and a driver. He chose to wear a shirt and tie? Then he mysteriously killed himself?

Things just don't jive with this story so far! Original reports said he was not a student, fired at a church, the ground, the sky, but left all the easy targets alone. If someone in an SUV dropped him off, then the location was important, but he didn't kill anyone.

I wonder how this will be spun later, and I wonder if we will get pictures of the dead gunmen? If he is truly dead?

You mean there goes your suicide bombers who go in the street and shoot random people.. Not much different is it?

Can't wait until US is forced to call its own terrorists, they can't even call the Mexican cartels terrorists, because they want the word "terrorist" to be isolated only to Muslims, and change meaning slowly in time, where one day the definition of terrorism = Muslim.
