It seems to me that now would be the perfect time for MSM to cover UFO phenomenon as this will divert attention away from Ahmadinejad's statement regarding 911. Once the 911 issue has died down so will the UFO coverage.

Why should any of this die down? Explain your reasoning?

I am just suggesting the possibility that the coverage is being used a diversionary tactic to draw attention away from the 911 issue. If that is the case then once the ship has been steadied so to speak, the coverage of the UFO phenomenon by th MSM will cease.

I really hope that it isn't the case because i would love it to get the attention it deserves.

Alien disclosure is similar to the countries that are releasing their past UFO documentation.
It is not full disclosure- no proof.

It is progress as far as possibly softening up the masses in case there is full disclosure.
IMO that will only happen if there is eminent danger to the planet. Anything less than that will leave us with what we have right now. NADA

As far as allowing CNN to report the conference, I believe that in itself could be a prelude to a shell game. Blinding the masses with crafted media has worked a few times in the recent past.

Let me be the 1st to say: Be prepared for Project Blue-beam.
line filler

Thank goodness for your comment.
UFO does not mean alien it is as it states
UFO = Unidentified Flying Object

Would you be able to identify top secret technologies that are at least 50 years advanced of what is allowed into the public arena.
There again the Universe we know is Large and Large is an understatement
Yes of course Humanity is not alone in the Universe
Humanity can be so arrogant thinking they are the Crown of Creation
How the heck are you so advanced when the world is still war torn, starvation is rife, Humanity is at a crossroads and clutches at straws expecting others to sort out the mess they have created and perpetuate.
If a real Alien came forward and offered you truth you dismiss them out of hand because they are not bug eyed beings in inter stellar flying machines.
You fool yourselves and allow unscrupulous ones to control your minds.
No Alien would ever approach such ones at this time - they know you for what you are - Plain self absorbed and uncaring which your actions prove.
You are being set up for a fall by your own kind and you see only what you want to see.
Many times evolved souls from other places come to assist you and mostly they are spurned even killed and Religions are formed around them taking truth and twisting it for self gain.
Come on people you are better than this but would you believe an Alien?

I am skeptical about this due to all those involved being disgraced military personnel who are selling out our countries security for 15 minutes of fame. Because of their hatred for america I consider them to not be credible. The only sources I would consider credible are currently serving military personnel who would bring these issues to the front prior to their dismissal or as they call it "retirement". All of the people in the video are also kind of old meaning their not very smart and are easily prone to things like dementia. Its a shame these people offer nothing that brings anything valid or credible to the table, all we can do is hope that reliable personnel come forward who still salute the american flag like patriots instead of cowards turning their backs on our country and its people

edit on 28-9-2010 by tigpoppa because: IM AWESOME!

They should ban your post. I find it offensive. My father is nearly 67 years old, has a PhD, and is one of the most knowledgable people I have ever met on a wide variety of topics. His memory is probably better than mine. Your post discrediting folks on the basis of age? You act as if every one of them is 100+ and have no idea what they're saying. Son, these men put in their military service before your mother even gave kids a second thought. Most of them know a heck of alot more about life than you.

Not everyone "retires" from the military. In order to "retire" you must serve at least 20 years. In fact the majoirty of people who "serve their country" don't "retire." They do their service and then they move on. But some of these people who have come foward are retired. Why don't you INVESTIGATE before spewing lies here on ATS? Example: Bruce Fenstermacher- Retired USAF Captain. It's clearly been stated already that some of the military personel are retired. Some were discharged after their service was finished (former military).

This is the second thread I've caught you spamming this same lie on....

Maybe it is just the patriot in me but speaking as a real american, I think they hate america because their discussing classified locations and divulging knowledge that our country is weak to a foreign invader which is not true because america is the most powerful nation on earth since everyone wants to live here and not in a corrupt society of intolerance.

Classified locations? You have GOT to be kidding me... 1960's old nuke sites? Just go to google Earth... anyone can get close and personal to our nuke sites... they were classified 50 years ago

And getting this info from ACTIVE servicemen? While they are ACTIVE they are sworn to silence... if they spoke they would be guilty of treason... Most classified information is RELEASED after 50 years. It is safe for these fellows to discuss it because it happened in the 60's

I heard them mention CIA and NSA UFO investigations... I heard them say they were not sure...

Well I am POSITIVE. The NSA has DECLASSIFIED UFO reports on their own website. So does the CIA, the British MoD, Canadian Department of Defence, the US Air Force and several more. You can go see them yourself if your not to paranoid to go visit the CIA and NSA sites. I mean they WILL be tracking your visit to see what you look at

Disclosure NSA Style
www.abovetopsecret.com...

Seems to me you and many others on ATS will find ANY excuse to not believe it. Your comments on their age and mental capacities can only be meant to incite anger... you cannot possibly be that stupid to actually believe that..

Enjoy your bliss

Why does the term UFO have to stand for Unidentified Flying Object? Can't it also be an Unknown "Foreign" Object?...

Have you ever watch the show "Monster Quest". Whenever anyone has some sort of proof of a monster, its usually an animal/creature that they've killed because they "didn't know what it was". Maybe these Beings are afraid of a similar reaction if they approach without defenses.

As for the Alien Invasion. I think its all apart of a faux invasion in order to (a) create a false rapture of some sort, or (b) to collapse Earth's borders to create a one world government. Personally, I'd love to believe that Aliens are visiting us under a banner of aid or truce, but for some reason I just can't shake the feeling that the big bad NWO is behind all of this.

The military is putting out propaganda. When Bush was in office he had a study done on the nukes. The study came back showing a lot of "Dull Swords". "Dull Sword" is code name for a failure that would prevent launch of a nuke. "Dull Sword" can be anything used for launching nukes. Trucks to haul them, Trailers for hauling them, Computers for testing or firing them, so on and so on. After Bush up graded the internet for the military with special projects such as "Aurora". Maybe you remember "Project Aurora" the black budget program for the Air Force that was worth billions. No it was not a plane or a space craft. It was a Stream Processing Engine and the projects were The Borealis Project, The Aurora Project, The Medusa Project all part of computer chips created for the SIPRnet "Secret Internet Protocol Router Network" the millitaries secret internet ran on the backbone of the regular internet you know NIPRnet "Non-classified Internet Protocol Router Network". And this project of creating SIPRnet was a modern day "Manhattan Project" no amount of money was to high. The second project Bush wanted was the update of the nukes. He was prevented from doing this due to non-proliferation and nuclear arms reduction agreements with Russia. If he started playing with nukes the cold war would begin again and Congress, UN and other agencies would not let him start a new arms race. Then came the Russia is evil and starting wars with Georgia. That was Bush's way to end those treaties to start a new nuke program. Mc Cain was supposed to carry out that portion of Bush's plan after he left office but Obama won and the plan was foiled.

Now we have the military wanting there new nuke program. Gates has been on record as recent as 2009 saying he wants a new nuke program but Obama has said NO! the non-poliferation and nuclear arms reduction is more important. He said stay with the program in place of "repair and fix". The military is over looking and allowing "Dull Swords" to create a feeling of the weapons are failing and our security is at stake, but Obama called there bluff and fired the ones in charge of the nukes and replaced them. The military now has turned to propaganda to push this new nuke program forward. They want to create a public out cry and have Congress say check the nukes due to UFOs. Why do they use UFOs as part of there story? It is against the law to speak about anything to do with the nuclear program. Until 2003 it was against the law for the military to even admit a nuclear explosion occured on a military base by accident even if the public was in harms way. A law was changed under Bush allowing for the military to publicly warn people if a US nuclear device had created a threat to the public in 2003 because of fear of terrorist attacks or accidents. Before then they would not tell you. They would just let you die unknown what you were dying from. Scary thought! But the military has found a way around the "neither confirm nor deny" by releasing info with fiction. If your in the "Know" you Know what there talking about. I guess its a way of pushing agendas with public support while having the public wonder "What is really going on". If the people push to get to the truth Congress will act and the "Real truth will never be known to the public" as they put a "National Security" stamp on the subject.

So in conclusion you have military who spends billons on creating microchips and processors and use propaganda of space planes and secret aircrraft to hide it from the public. Paying for all research and development of those microchips and processors in 2004. Then allow those companies to release those to the public 5 years later and take the patents as belonging to those companies so they can make millons off of them for no cost of there own. You have a military who is willing to start a war with Russia just so they can canceal treaties with Russia so they can start a new nuclear program. And now the military is pushing propaganda of UFOs attacking our nuclear arms in order to start a new nuclear program. My question how far will they go and what are they capable of? How out of control are they? And when will people wke up and quit believing the liesnd propagada?

Im not saying theres no aliens or UFOs. I am just telling you what this story is all about. The military wants more and will do what ever the want to get it!!

Yeah, CNN and all other major media outlets have talked about all of this stuff before. It's nothing new, and there isn't any noticeable increase in coverage either.

All of this will be forgotten in a day or two.

The mainstream views both 9/11 "truthers" and believers in aliens as insane crackpots.

Human beings, as a group, will always follow the examples set forth by authoritative figures, i.e., the mainstream media. It's an innate cognitive bias of our minds; a herd mentality that seeks approval from the rest of society. And because the mainstream media barely acknowledges the legitimacy of either of the above two topics, most people will be unwilling to lend it any credibility.

Or instead of believing that every single government and military official you meet is part of some elaborate scheme........

You can simply take these gentleman at face value. Even one of them said "I'm getting older and I thought this was important so I came forward to tell my story..."

It's not that hard people. These folks might have wore a military uniform at one time, but that doesn't make them gods. They are people just like you and me. They are people who have ordinary thoughts just like you and me. They perceive the world much like you and me. They are human beings.

What they witnessed was beyond the normal "human experience."

Scramjet... DITTO.
Their are all kinds of trolls about, and some are extremely offensive... Like you - I have tremendous respect for my parents generation, my Dad served actively during WWII (British Military), and like you, I'd trust my Dad's word implicitly, and his memory too.
The Mods I am sure will contact people they deem to be trolls, and I hope that the offensive trolls especially. They add nothing to the conversation, and intend only to annoy and frustrate those who are trying to discuss the issue at hand.

And so to the issue... I find it really impressive on two levels: the quality of the report, and the measured way it was reported.

Others here are discussing this news article and completely missing the point... so here goes:

1. Quality of the Report:
The presenters come across as informed, presentable and truthful, rather than my picking apart any specific person, one has to look at the entire report. It comes across like any other news report... and THAT'S the kicker here... it was reported as news, not as weird tinfoil hat wearing people. Likewise the audience listed attentively. Some who mention the Larry King item from a couple of year ago forget something really important... this was presented as an item of news on CNN... not on a late night show that has opinions and discussions... there is a huge difference.

2. Measured Reporting:
On the CNN website and on the TV when it was shown.. it was not laughed off or denigrated by the presenters (or the webmaster/editor). It was simply reported and significantly represented on the website... not in the "weird / other" news section but as a Headline News article... and that is the kicker.

Sure - people didn't fall off their chairs, sure no new cool videos... but quite simply the topic was presented as news by major news sources...

Significant - yes
Disclosure - no
The topic of UFOs/Aliens takes one small step towards credibility in the major news media - yes

Thank you

being that on the video there seems to be only a few people who actually saw a UFO personally, could it be that this was an exercise to see how these guys would react? being in charge of nukes is a serious job and they must have had loads of psych exams even before they got the job.

perhaps they had to come up with a way to test these guys and having UFO appear and shut down systems would definitely test their nerves. this would be a scenario that they would not have been familiar with and would definitely press some nerves. also, it could have been a way to test how good they are with top secret info. if someone hears that particular story they would now exactly where it came from.

so, none of the nukes were permanently damaged and the guys in the capsule couldnt see anything. they had to take the word of the security teams above. i get it doesnt explain the guys who actually claim to see something but this could be part of it.

I dont think any of this happened at all. Sounds made up. If it was real why wouldnt they be shooting down the ufos? I mean are nuke sites defenseless and any person can just wander in and take a stroll around like an alien?

I am pretty sure they have security at these sites so these men are all not credible because they are saying that nuke sites are unsecured and open to attack. This to me makes no sense, the places I work are crawling with people who have guns so why would a nuke site not have guns to shoot down an enemy threat? they just watched them disable our weapons? That is like if I was a bank guard and just watched some homeless guy wander into the vault and leave with bags of money and did nothing about it.
