Woo, super awesome post!

On the technology issue, tech evolves exponentially. The reason for this, is easy. Suppose that a new invention begets two new applications that use that invention, and now each new application begets two more adaptations, etc. Pretty soon, you've got an upward bell curve going up sharply.

There is a name for this, though it has been escaping me since I entered the thread. It is supposed to get so vast (exponentially) that every few seconds a new tech will be "invented" and a few seconds after that it will be obsolete.

I can't remember where I gleaned this information from, for the life of me. I wish I could, it was a fun read for sure.

Humans are a remarkable species, give us a little credit!

Thanks for the compliment!

"Moore's Law", is the name I think most ascribe to the technology curve....

THAT'S IT!

Moore's law describes a long-term trend in the history of computing hardware. The number of transistors that can be placed inexpensively on an integrated circuit has doubled approximately every two years.[1] The trend has continued for more than half a century and is not expected to stop until 2015 or later.[2]

The capabilities of many digital electronic devices are strongly linked to Moore's law: processing speed, memory capacity, sensors and even the number and size of pixels in digital cameras.[3] All of these are improving at (roughly) exponential rates as well.[4] This has dramatically increased the usefulness of digital electronics in nearly every segment of the world economy.[5][6] Moore's law precisely describes a driving force of technological and social change in the late 20th and early 21st centuries...

Thank you! I have been describing that since my first post (more-or-less) but without the "data" I didn't want to get too in depth

So yeah, this is why I think we are so advanced now. That + smart humans.

Aliens DO NOT visit us. A UFO is simply an unidentified flying craft. Could be from our own government. During WW2 the Germans were developing just such a craft

You mean the VRIL crafts that had help from Aldebaran, channeled by that cute Marija Oršić?

Not every single UFO out there are Aliens. Some maybe top secret craft made by our military/government.

I cant, but could UFO skeptics explain why it isn't aliens?

The tried and true statement fits here:

The burden of proof rests firmly on you my friend.

I mean, are we to take your word for it, just because you said so?

I'm glad I read the rest before I replied.. as much as I believe in aliens and UFOs .. the burden of proof definitely does not rest on the skeptic.. it relies on those that believe it exists to prove it exists.. that's what science is all about anyway.

You speak in absolute certainty .. as if you know.

Saying for example "Aliens DO NOT visit us" is as asinine as saying "Aliens DO visit us" .. Neither of which can be proven, and if it can .. where's the proof that causes you to speak in absolutes?

At the end of the day, neither side has concrete evidence saying one way or the other .. so the best possible solution is to view what evidence is presented and evaluate it with an open mind and a bit of respect.
