I know almost nothing on this subject and have always presumed they were just waiting for us to advance enough then reveal themselfs to all of mankind for our benifit. Since I started reading different threads on aliens I have started to realize that a great many people think it will be bad for us when they arive. Some people think there are both good and bad, and even that they are fighting with each other over us and our planet.

I would like to know what you think about this subject.

You can probably look at it as being 50/50, I mean it is the only two choices you have.
However you would have to take in account the reasons they may be travelling the universe.
They may not be nefarious beings as such but then neither were the first settlers in Australia or the US or the Spainish conquistadors.

Aliens may not even have a sense of morality as we understand it. They may have developed entirely different cultural and behavioral patterns which we may or may not recognize as even being cogent.

In short they may show up as friendly as can be, with the cure for cancer in hand - only for us to find that it's normal for aliens to play with their food and that they dislike the taste of cancer cells. And then they might not even be capable of understanding why it is we don't want to be eaten.

We impress too much of ourselves upon the abstract.

What makes you so great that some ugly nasty space aliens are going to do something for your benefit?? Don't you find it suspicious that they don't want you to know that they're there??

What do you mean by "our benefit?" Why do you think that aliens would "benefit you?" Can you please be more specific...

Being an abductee I can certainly say they are already here. But to try to generalize the visitors is like stereo typing humanity. Some of these entities I've met are very kind but others are horrendous beyond description. I have been shown great love and a day later tortured. But in ALL circumstances they are deceptive in my opinion.

Benevolent or Nefarious Beings?

Who knows? Who can say...and can we trust those who say they know?

Anecdotally, I can only think of one 'benevolent' act involving a UFO. It's only a tale and not substantiated. Allegedly, there was a UFO above Chernobyl when the reactor ruptured that shone some beam down and reduced the scale of the radioactive output into the surrounding area and atmosphere.

It's more than likely a shaggy-dog story, but it's the only 'benevolent' one that springs to mind. Then again, being waylaid by an attractive blonde alien and forced to 'put out' might be considered 'benevolent for Antonio Villas Boas

There's a wealth of accounts edging towards 'nefarious.' Plenty of them and some are pretty colourful...

Colares 1977 always springs to mind, although it's a fairly unique scenario. Lake Superior/ Kinross had a jet and crew disappear on radar...never found since. Maybe Valentich too? Skinwalker Ranch is a disturbing case and hard to dismiss when the likes of Vallee support the people telling the story. I'm not so sure and have questions about all of that case and the supporters...Vallee included.

I guess that speculation is the only game in town when we try to ascribe morality or motivation to things we don't even know exist. UFOs are real, but anything else is open to question in my opinion.

I doubt it is that black or white.

If benevolent, they would have helped us.
If nefarious, we'd either be enslaved, eaten, etc. by now.

Therefore, I'm going to have to go with "stand-offish" at best, containing us and studying us at worst (and more likely). I think they are just ensuring we stay in our own little sandbox and playground, until they feel we are ready to play nicely with the other children of the Universe.

One could argue, "Who are they to decide that for us?"... Well, apparently they are the ones with the interstellar drives that make it possible...

Fascinating posts. Maybe i was being naive when i assumed they were waiting for us to mature, and that they would be here for our benifit. Why would they not justs destroy us or eats us now if they were malicious, unless they already are and that most of us are just blind cattle.

The general concensus is that aliens would not benifit mankind in any way. One individual said they where abducted and i was wondering if any one else also had this experience.

As above, so below. Good and bad both...yes. Fighting...yes, but it's coming to an end. The bad ones are here already and they will be abyssed.
