Ummmm.....to chime in......I'm (to parrot a phrase) a bit gobsmacked.
Not in my "gobs", mind you! (Those are, so far, quite satisfactory).
Since I have no experience with prostrate problems, I nevertheless realize it can be a major concern for many, many men. (And, if I understand
correctly, even the occasional woman....except the anatomical differences of course vary...).
Perhaps as my years of age advance, this will indeed become more of a personal concern. (Sincerely hope not...)
This topic might pique the interest of an author who is (of late) making somewhat of a name for herself. (At least, here in the States....and mostly
for those who listen to Public Radio. And visit Libraries.....)
Mary Roach. I've been recently introduced to her few books, and have found them quite entertaining:
Her personal website.
(It's cute!)
So far, I have read "
Stiff" and "
Bonk" (which this thread made me think of....honest!! Read the book and you might see
why).
Waiting anxiously for "
Packing For Mars" to be available.
Meantime, "
Spook" might also interest some aspects of ATS membership....but, that's not even close to topic of this thread, belongs more
in the Supernatural section......

EDIT: Link to the website, in the OP, seem sbroken (thankfully!).
But, the word "transurethically" (sp?) just jumped out at me, and made me feel all ICKY inside.....
Thought I'd share...and, OH!! Mention, again, the author Ms. Roach (lovely name, eh?). I think it was in her book "
Stiff" where she
delves into, among other things, the level of quackery that used to infest the "medical" profession, back in lesser-inspired eras. It is a
particularly grueling account of a (botched) kidney stone extraction, apparently conducted from INSIDE (as it were) the urethra.....well, any man in
the audience may now cross his legs in protest.......
