Any organized hostile militia, especially those backed by Iran, will try very hard to badger America into another siege situation. They need to create
overwhelming popular outcry to get U.S. troops out of the country as soon as the Iraqi government has that power.
If they can do it before November it will be a catastrophe for Bush. Republicans will feel that we have abandoned Iraq to chaos and made the whole
fight in vain. Democrats will say it proves that we were wrong to invade. It could cost Bush republican voters who weren't sure about the war as well
as the vast majority of the undecided vote. Iran wants Bush out, because they remember the role that left-wing foreign policy played in the nuclear
development of Korea.
So... all hell is going to break lose, not in general, but in a couple of neighborhoods, with the goal of polarizing the country even further against
US troops. I expect the iraqi government to explicity ask US troops to leave, and possibly to request further help from Russia. This depends in large
part on America's covert influence over government members, as well as that of Iran.
