Ahhh right, look. I am not telling my perspective on this, only what I have seen. The feeling seems to blow hot and cold with you guys.
Secondly I think you will find that nowhere in my post did I advocate an open border between the US and Mexico. But just in case I will check........... nope didn't.
My point which you spectacularly failed to grasp whilst intent on putting words into my mouth was simple.
The government of Mexico proposes to build a secure border to the south (just as the US has previosly proposed for it's border. The reason being to try to stem the flow of the drug trade routes, and other immigrants from central and south America. the result of which would in turn help take the pressure off the Northern border.
Now I guess what you advocate is that they also build a wall to the north to keep people in??
Last time i saw any government building wall to keep people in was East Germany! in the same vien the only govs that stop people leaving are communist ones. So short of Mexico becoming a communist dictatorship, it is hard pressed to stop people leaving.
In turn should it not be the responsibility of the US Gov to secure and protect it's own border?
As an immigrant myself (to Mexico) I fully advocate the rights of people to immigrate to wherever they want, all be it legally. I do not believe that Illegal immigration is a good thing, and should be discouraged and punished, but in turn any country that also believes in fair immigration, should not be exclusive in it's policies and procedures. So you are wrong in your assumption there.
if anything the US should take a leaf from Mexico's stance, grew some cojones, and enforce it's border properly. This would in turn benefit Mexico also as well as the US, as it would be further deterrent in addition to the southern Mex border, that could deter the drug routes.
As for the last part, well I have this from sources within the political establishment here, currently the PAN is refusing ingress from the US elites, however some names been bandied around are known in close circles to be out and out puppet men of (as was told to me) the Masons, However, I fully doubt that it is as simple as that, and what we are talking really the oligarchy.
but basically if Mexico will go ahead with this plan, then basically credit should be given where credit is due, by doing proactive in its approach to its problems, instead of being politically motivated, and wishy washy on the subject like it's neighbour to the north.
