Atlas V Launch tonight Sept 20 from Vandenberg AFB.

There is a missile launch tonight at 8:29 Pacific Time from Vandenberg AFB. This will be the 604th Atlas mission in US History and will carry a payload from the National Reconnaissance Office. Hopefully this will be visible from my secret Arizona location. I am getting ready to put the camera on the tripod and prepare some munchies.

I wish I had a vid camera, ..... I live 10 minutes from VAFB. looks like we got 30 min to go !!

I am counting down the minutes now. I am hoping it will be visible from my location. I wish I could have gone out and scaled Superstition Mountain for a better view.

It was a little late, In fact I had forgotten about it.

But once it starts to go there is no denying it, especialy here. It's almost like an earthquake, .... window's shaking, car alarms going off. I got out just in time, .... wish I took a pic, it was so bright.

I am happy you got to see it. I did not. Next time I am getting out early and getting up on a mountain.
