You've got the nephews mixed up with the war criminals.

William Patrick Stuart-Houston was a NEPHEW of Adolf Hitler. He joned the U.S. Navy in 1944 and served until 1947. He was not decorated for anything. See your own Wiki link.

Werner G. Goering was a NEPHEW of the German Luftwaffe Commander Hermann Goering. He flew bomber missions over Nazi Germany for the United States.

They were decorated in WWI, Goerring was a highly decorated aviator i believe he earned the coveted "Blue Max." If memory serves me Adolph Hitler won the Iron Cross.
