Well We have to prove that it was a sudden rapid movement of the camera..I thought of that first...Have to be skpetical...If he is telling the truth that thing did incredible movement. He may have moved the camera real fast and did not realize He did that Himself.

The movement at the end is no more violent than the rest of the camera shake ..er.. 'movement'. And there is also the question of why he didn't zoom back and keep filming the *second* object as it came into land ..er.. 'disappeared'.

Oh, except it didn't disappear - it was still in view yet he stopped filming - his camera was plugged in so why stop...?

I hardly ever make a post here but I have to say the two weird flashing star type things that appear most clear nights now outside my window can't be planets as they have not moved now for three months+ . Also they aren't geostationary satellites. There seems to be alot of these reports of late. Also recently a few of us observed a big orange orb that flitted about the sky seamlessly then turned into an airplane except that it made no noise. We all knew the difference, we are not strangers to air craft here. Something is afoot. I don't necessarily think aliens, it could be something far older than us, it could be something we have yet to explain or understand. Either way we know what we saw/see.

So you are not aware that you can tell very easily what are stars and planets, either on line, via a star atlas, or using any planetarium software like Stellarium? Was there a reason why:
- you offer no images
- you don't tell us where you are (roughly is fine)
- you don't tell us when you are seeing them
- you don't tell us if they are moving
- you don't tell us if over the course of the night, they move
- you don't tell us if over the course of the year, they gradually shift (when compared at the same time of night)

If you do give us the details - location, time, direction you are facing, I'm happy to tell you what should be there, and even supply a labelled diagram. But why not just grab a decent camera (one with manual focus and exposure). Zoom out, focus on infinity, set to ISO 100 f5.6, 15-30 seconds, put it on a tripod or table facing the right direction, and then use the self-timer to ensure the camera is still while the shot is taken.

Also they aren't geostationary satellites.

Really? You've been up to look? If not, on what do you base that claim? (You're right, they almost certainly aren't - but if you make a claim, then you need to say why...)

There seems to be alot of these reports of late.

As soon as you start looking for them, yes, you will find lots. Most of them about as useful as this one, and most from people who don't realise how bright Jupiter or Venus or Sirius.. can be.

Also recently a few of us

none of whom had cameras/phones..?

observed a big orange orb that flitted about the sky seamlessly then turned into an airplane except that it made no noise.

And this was reported, in detail, where? Given you say you had multiple witnesses, have they made statements? If not, why don't *you*, as the person making this claim, go and get those statements, and also present the full details here. We don't even know if this was daylight..

We all knew the difference, we are not strangers to air craft here.

Well, you are clearly a stranger to astronomy, so forgive me if I don't necessarily believe that. And given that if it 'turned into a plane', we should be able to identify the aircraft via 'flightaware' or similar, it would have a radar signature, etc, etc... If you are familiar with aircraft, how is it that you don't know this stuff?

Something is afoot.

Yes. But my opinion about what is 'afoot' may differ significantly to yours... (then again, I suspect it doesn't..)

I don't necessarily think aliens, it could be something far older than us, it could be something we have yet to explain or understand. Either way we know what we saw/see.

A pity that you have offered so little information...

Zarquon51.....

That was a plane.

It was heading towards you so that all you saw was the landing light & then it turned so that you could see the nav lights.

Hey Maybe Maybe Not....

I've cooled down now ... It was an emotional and weird experience! I know that there are those ATS'ser that believe me. For those who don't.... I sincerely apologize for my emotional outburst.... It is outside my nature, one which is kind, sincere, funny, and all truthful! :-(

I bow my head to the my ATS'ers, the "wonderful" MODS.... who calmed me down, gave me sanity. Once again, I apologize for my disrespect to others!

I DO STILL BELIEVE in what I saw, but disrespecting my ATS community??... That is NOT On!! I Apologise to ALL I Offended! Please forgive Me!!

TortoiseKweek.....

G'day again me ol' mate!

As I've said many times.....

This area is highly emotionally charged at the best of times, let alone when one perceives they've witnessed an "alien spacecraft".

I hope you don't feel I am being presumptuous if I add you to my friends list.

Kind regards

TK, can I make a small suggestion? (Even tho' I'm likely one of the people who most aggravated you!)

Take the suggestions on board - you have a good camera, and if you put a bit more effort into learning how to best use it, we can watch your video efforts improve. Plus you will find yourself better armed to identify the objects that are there, be they terrestrial, naturally space-borne, or unidentified or.... (cue Twilight Zone theme).

One of the things I find depressing - and maybe I'm one of those who causes it
, is that we don't see people trying again and improving their videos, discussing techniques, learning all the tricks..

There are a couple of notable exceptions - Hi, superiorraw!

I know only too well how easily the brain gets fooled -happens to me frequently too, but I'm happy to learn better ways and .. get better at it. I'm also happy to assist anyone who genuinely wants to learn how to do this sort of filming, and it *doesn't* cost a fortune to do it well - some of the techniques cost absolutely nothing.

Also happy to teach people how to use Stellarium..

Read the bolded bits back to yourself, zarquon, and see if you can spot the hypocrisy... No?

Anyway, your tactic of responding to perceived 'rude manners' in order to AVOID answering questions is an old one.

Let me point you back to the questions I asked of *you*.
www.abovetopsecret.com...

How about answering the points raised?
Also feel free to quote the bits that are so 'rude'. Maybe those folk who are scared off by questions should have a good long hard look at themselves. Me, I love questions - by answering them I can prove I know what I am talking about, that I did my homework, that I know my equipment - or, in rare cases
, I can learn stuff by having to research those answers...

This site is about denying ignorance, so how about you contribute?

None of those videos shows any proof of what they filmed. I have, in fact, tried filming stars, to use in video clips, and it's not easy to do. Not with the affordable cameras, in any case. Plus, those videos show objects that look a LOT bigger than Jupiter or Venus do in the night sky. Even Mars, back when it got "close" didn't look anything near that big. We used a telescope, and didn't get anything that clear. IF those are videos of the planets as claimed, they are using a pretty decent telescope, not just a video camera. Heck, even the full moon doesn't look much different than that on camera. Filmed it, so I know.

its South East of Mississauga, on Lake Erie. If you go to St. Catharines, its 1/2 an hour south, so relatively close to where you are. The thing you saw, was it really really bright and bigger than any of the stars, just levitating in one spot for a long period of time?
