But for a TP "Values" candidate it's as American as apple pie.

Um, no, if you'll look you had more than one removed...........get over it, play by the rues and ya won't have anything to complain about. If you don't like the t&c talk to the owners, not me. As far as the topic, wow, what a non issue, at least what he did isn't illegal, it's just not very smart.

I am a little more than curious how one bashes someone for having the N-word in their post and even telling them they got what they deserved for having it removed all while defending Paladino's use of the N-word in a hateful manner?

Furthermore, if Paladino thinking the N-word is ok to use as a joke when referring to black people is a non-issue then why are you not telling the mods how silly they are for considering it an extreme t & c violation?

I guess this looks a lot like a double standard but I am willing to hear anything reasonable.

Keep up, it wasn't the n word that got his posts removed.............it was another term that was made political trolling by the owners here at ats............but thanks for playing.

You did not read the last post that was removed then. It was not about the Tea Party. It had a clear reference to the Paladino use of the N-word as a joke.

Does that include the verb used to describe the act of dipping a tea bag into a cup of water or sending tea bags off to different offices or just the N-word and beastiality? I notice the OP was banned for either or and I am wondering when all the "free speech" advocates rallying around Paladino are going to defend them.

i dont know what to say if you personally take a tea bag as a personal insult or insulting anyone..

to the usage of the n- word every single day is it used by african americans in music and in gest.

but but but its an insult only when "whitey" uses it.

if the word is just so insulting and demeaning to them it would never be used by anyone.

That was a complete dodge of my actual question. I guess the answer would be that yes, there is a huge double standard. It is not about what words are used or who is offended but who uses them. You want to defend hate speech in the name of free speech but fall silent when it comes to defending a nickname for the tea party beause.....?

I am not so curious anymore when people take the time to reply but not actually respond.

Stop IMing me. You are describing a completely different post. Ask Maybereal or let it go.

Even if you were correct, you are still simple defending the punishment of someone using a word you do not like while defending the use of the N-word which we know a lot of people do not like. You painted yourself into a corner where either way, you are defending the N-word and getting all upset over another - word.

Thanks for all the help.

Wow, I not once defended the use of the n word.......I'd say that's a big stretch by you. As well as the u2u's quit sending them to me as well.............get over yourself, the t&c has to be abided by all, not just a chosen few from the left........end of discussion for me, have a nice night.

I responded to you. I asked you to stop and you wrote more. I responded to you and asked you to stop and you wrote more. This is some spin. I only had a little time to hang out on ATS tonight. I happened to see every post you were talking about. I know which ones were about tea in a paper sack and what the last one said. I think it is too bad you apparently missed it but to try and say that you have not been defending Paladino in this thread is about as realistic as pretending to tell me to stop sending you messages. Guess what, after telling you 3 times to stop, I still have one unopened message from you. I did not get on here tonight to play spin the truth or get sucked into some argument about what neither one of us could verify. Stop sending me messages, they will not be read. This includes the one sitting there now. Thanks for helping me decide to get the hell off ATS for the night.

no your just not happy with the answer you wanted.

hate speech comes from the left every single day magnified to the n'th degree by the main stream media

hate speech is hate speech just depends on the observer.

hate speech exists only on the right and the teaparty but none comes from the left.

bull crap.

there is not one minorty in this country who has to put up with one tenth of anyone on the right or conservative or christian has to.

and you are definately being a word nazi

Ok good, that makes pro tea partiers win, because now you will have NO CHOICE but to apply that same standard to the Dems.

Guess what? I agree with you!

And while at it apply it to the rest of the Republicans, and any independents, and anyone seeking any public office. If we want to see any change, we will have to scrutinize not just what a candidate says publicly but what his funders say and how those funders behave in the real world.

Actions speak louder than words and how those corporations behave will tell you more about what they expect out of the candidates they support than any campaign speech. There will always be people and corps with money behind candidates, but while some corporations might be good citizens, some will surely not.

The ones behind the Tea Party are not. What people think their candidate stands for may not be what he will actually do once in office -- well, that is almost too obvious to state, but we need to at least look behind the rhetoric to get a truer picture of the person so we will be less surprised once they are in office.

I'm not sure how much about his guy is true and what is propaganda. He could be a horrible person or a wrongly accused, slandered person who screwed up by letting some humorous emails get revealed. Who knows? It's hard to know that about anyone anymore. I'd bet most people here would be embarrassed if everything they ever looked at or laughed at and emailed as a joke were exposed along with their names. What do you think?

Do you personally believe all Tea Party people are Racists? Most of them? A third of them? A tiny number of them?

Which category do you align with yourself? Progressive (Obama)? Traditional Democrat? Moderate? Moderate Conservative? Conservative (Traditional Republican)? Hawk (Far Right for our young readers)? Radical Right (Nazi, KKK, Skinhead, Aryan Nation etc...)?

I lie in the middle with most Independents. I see pond scum with both D's and R's following their names.

The Tea Party people I know here are all decent people, but then I only know a couple of dozen. All they are is hard working Americans who are scared of the direction the country is going and all the insane control freaks in office right now. They are far more decent people than many of the D's and R's I know.

Lovely, but if they remain ignorant of the potential for misuse of their effort, then they could be in for a big surprise. Isn't it time we learnt to prevent surprises by looking deeper into things and not following blindly?

There are always at least two sides to everything and usually more. Never is anything, much less a movement pure, precious gold. There is potential for some good coming out of that movement. There is as much potential for bad. My understanding is that the billionaires who contribute heavily have an objective of reducing average American wages to the current level of third world countries. That would serve the objective of maximizing profits for themselves.

How does the decent common folk involving themselves in this movement protect themselves from this threat? Who will the elected listen to -- the decent, but poor folk, or the billionaires?

I am saying people need to be aware, have their eyes open to reality and not some saccharine dream of smaller government but still an equal playing field with safeguards for the little guy. Lets be realistic.
