I do see that, and the thread is off track at the moment

But it seems as some of the posts made have been taking a direct hit of islam. Im just trying to show that a lot of what is said is a bit harsh, because some of you think muslims are all like those idiot extremists

But your anger is so misdirected. A Catholic priest is more of a threat than Islam. He gets to fiddle kids and the Vatican turns a blind eye. Look at what is happening in Belgium at the moment.

Who says I'm not mad at that as well? I am capable of being angry at many different things at once. I'm capable of being vigilent against many different threats at once. If ya' wanna start a thread about how we should be vigilant against pedophiles in places of trust (ministry, priesthood, schoolteachers, doctors ) ... heck .... I'll be right there with ya.

And in Islamic countries old men gets to marry girls as young as 6 years old to help families in poverty get some of the burden off.

But when it comes to sexuality my husband witnessed in some of the detention camps during the first gulf war, how older men would try to rape younger boys.

My point is that America has become obsessed by the idea that Islam is taking over. I come from a country where these sentiments have been expressed long before they started in the States. Islam, in parts, is extremist, but what Catholicism has done and is being allowed to do is just as worse.

Actually in the latest reports of births in the US, Americans birth rates had decreased considerably compare to immigrants in the nation that seems to just keep growing.

It was all over the news this week.

You're talking about two different situations.
1. Christians in the US are given trials and put in jail for illegal behavior.
2. Muslims in Muslim countries are given a pat on the back for LEGAL behavior.

In the US, ANYONE who behaves illegally will be given a trial and put in jail. You're speaking as though we will be under Sharia law and we won't! This is a secular country. You're comparing apples to oranges.

On this, we can agree. But there's NO indication that our government will be dumped so that we can have Sharia Law. Our biggest threat is "Christian Law" and it probably always will be.

Islam and Christianity are as bad as each other. Don't knock one doctrine and imagine the other is any better.

No is not, but when it comes to priest they make the big news all the time, still rape in Islamic countries when it comes to the place of girls in society is not even thirth class they are expendable but the excuse is that they are marry and can be dispose off at will.

Funny, I live in the south and that's exactly what the rednecks here say about black people. Actually this same disparity in birth rates is not a religious thing. It's a third world thing. Industrialized nations are a bit better at birth control than the unindustrialized ones.

The United States isn't an Islamic country, it will never be an Islamic country. This is a Constitutional Republic. We have laws against things like Sharia Law.

I don't know why you fear mongers aren't getting this. I doubt you ever will.

Do you understand ... REALLY understand ... why people are being vigilent? It's not Christian v Islam - it's 2010 CE v 1000 CE. Everyone looks at Sharia Law ... and they look at what is happening in France and England ...

It's GOOD to be vigilant against any religious takeover of gov't. And considering how gov'ts are bending over backwards to kiss Islamic-butt ... it's a disconcerning thing.

Small example .. Obama backed the right of the developer to build the Islamic Center in NYC ... which is fine. But then he had a fit about the idiot who wanted to burn the Qu'ran. Both of these things are allowed by law. Both are provocative and should not happen out of regard to others. Both are things that the POTUS should have kept his mouth shut about. But instead of butting out .. the POTUS backs the Islamic center being put where the developer wants and dis's the idiot burning the Qu'ran.

One small example ... drip drip drip .... small drops fill up the bucket. Ya' know?

Really? my husband is a retire marine that serve in the military from 1979 to his retirement in 1998, he serve in the three campaigns in the gulf, but then again I don't have to force you to believe anything.

Many people in this boards that knows me for a long time knows that I am a wife of a retire marine.
