Here's an idea: Let's Outlaw Political Campaigning as it Exists right now

So, how many of you are disgusted with the way that the general population can be so easily manipulated in political campaigns? I myself am, because I feel I have been duped many times into voting for the wrong candidate.

The people who craft these campaigns are masters at manipulating people's feelings, and masters at creating people who are not really who they are. They are masters at advertising. But when it comes to our nation's health, should we really be voting based on advertising?

So, here's an idea. Outlaw political campaigns as they exist now. Just have debates. No political handlers, no speech writers, no campaign managers. No multi-million advertising campaigns. No ghost writers writing book memoirs. Just the candidates themselves, debating the issues, writing their own articles, and displaying them for free in newspapers and websites.

I personally think that you should not be allowed to have a speech writer work for you until AFTER you are elected as president. Speech writers can make even the worst opinions sound good. I don't want to cast my vote based on a speech writer's words....I want to cast my vote based on what the actual candidate thinks...in his or her own words.

I agree and think all candidates should be given a two hour debate on live prime time TV paid for by the US government, not a particular party. Their only face time would be via public debate and personal appearance. Kissing babies and shaking hands. As it stands now, he who has the most money wins. That is a piss poor way of picking leaders.
