Which company do you think makes the better sports games -- EA Sports or ESPN VideoGames (previously known as Sega Sports)? Of course, you can write in any other company and its sports franchises you wish. These are just the two biggest companies for sports video games, by far...

Also, what sports video games do you own? Right now I own the following (all on PS2):

ESPN NFL Football
ESPN NBA Basketball
ESPN MLB Baseball
ESPN NHL Hockey
NCAA Football 2004
FIFA Soccer 2004
Tiger Woods PGA Golf 2004

I still can't decide!
I want a PS2 game for each of the four major sports leagues in the U.S. -- NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL -- but I can't decide between the two companies.

Should I buy

Madden NFL 2005
NBA Live 2005
MVP Baseball 2005
NHL 2005

or should I buy

ESPN NFL 2K5
ESPN NBA 2K5
ESPN MLB 2K5
ESPN NHL 2K5

? I need your advice!

Slogan says it all "EA Sports. If it's in the game, it's in the game."

EA is my choice. Fifa, Madden and Tiger Woods can keep me occupied for weeks, but I do like the Espn hockey titles more then the EA.

When it comes to football FIFA 2004 by EA SPORTS is the way to go, nothing beats the commentary by John Motson and Andy Grey.
For proof that EA owns all, check out Need For Speed Underground.
Formula One is an amazing game as well, but the controls are crazy as (c). NHL 2004 by EA SPORTS is crazy ass game play as well.

For the other sports, I can't say that I care.

But if your going to buy, I would suggest waiting for The 2005 editions.

From what I've heard is that the new espn football game this year blows madden out of the water. And they are selling it for just $20!

Are you sure about that? A $20 price tag for all 2005 ESPN sports games? Whoa!

I guess ESPN has decided to use the old business rule, "If you can't win by the rules, change the rules!"
How many people will pass up ESPN NFL 2K5 (or any of the other three ESPN sports games) for $20 when EA Sports is selling its sports games for $50 apiece?
