Americans are being programmed by their Media

Here I was setting up a new netbook this evening. I went to the CNN website, where the lead story was yet another story about the Mosque "at" Ground Zero.

At the top, was an option bar telling me that they noticed I was from Canada and would I like to make the Canadian edition my default?

I changed the edition, and voila, the lead story about the Mosque was gone from the lead story, but was still there, buried in the news links further down the page. Apparently they must think that Canadians are smart enough or tolerant enough of others to realize that the mosque story is a non starter.

It's interesting that TPTB in the MSM think this story is only a high priority for AMERICAN readers.

AMERICANS, you are being PROGRAMMED to hate Muslims.

And everyone else is being programmed to hate Americans.

While I am positive that we, as a society, are manipulated by the media... Another thing to think about is that the media tends to feed us what we ask for. Ratings are everything and media uses feedback, focus groups, and viewership to determine the menu we're offered.

So, in that regard, in a way we are kind of brainwashing ourselves...

And so is the rest of the world............. But it's not the media on TV it's the internet!!!!!!!!

I agree with everything you said. We, as Americans, are still being force fed the idaes that we need low MPG musclecars, fast food service and general xenophobia. This is leading to our decline physically and mentally.

I was in the USN for 11 years and have been to over 25 countries and 4 contenents. Travel is the only true way to grow and lear about others. Go out and meet them. If you are in the U.S. start by going from state to state. One will be amazed at the diversity in geography.

The Koran story is the main headline on the UK BBC news site too. Maybe it's only the Canadians that get a break from this nonsense

I've got to go along with this.

Seems the fashionable thing worldwide. America = evil.

As far as being programmed to hate Moslems......they have no idea how much of a threat Islam is/ is not.

Most people have no clue what Islam is all about...even the ones defending it.

They should look into what it is really about before pulling an opinion out of their butts.
