Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair has described radical Islam as the greatest threat facing the world today.
He made the remark in a BBC interview marking the publication of his memoirs.
Mr Blair said radical Islamists believed that whatever was done in the name of their cause was justified - including the use of chemical, biological or nuclear weapons.
Mr Blair, who led Britain into war in Afghanistan and Iraq, denied that his own policies had fuelled radicalism.
Where does he get off persecuting Muslims?

I don't see where he is persecuting Muslims. I don't know about you but I find a very distinct difference between those who follow the Muslim religion and those who are considered Islamic fundamentalists.
Fundamentalists of any religion are a threat to all. It just happens however that most terrorists are seemingly Islamic fundamentalists. So, in essence I am in agreement with his statements.

He's not really helped the situation has he, what makes muslims turn militant? Probably doesn't help that you start illegal wars in their countries killing thousands of innocent muslims.
This guy is truly a horrible despicable individual.
Let me explain my thoughts on this - Basically, Tony Blair is whipping up the general anti-Muslim sentiment that is festering in this country. He's not doing it because radicalism of any sort (an excellent point from you) is obviously dangerous, he's doing it because it specifically targets Muslims.

And most dangerous form of fundamentalism currently comes from Islamic religion.
Violent skirmishes broke out between protesters and police at the first public signing for Tony Blair's memoirs, with shoes and eggs hurled at the former prime minister.
Three men were arrested after they broke through a security barrier at around 10.45am today outside Eason's bookshop on O'Connell Street in Dublin, Ireland.
(two leading rabbis who endorsed the book, Dov Lior and Yaakov Yosef, were summoned to interrogations by the Shabak. However, the rabbis refused to appear at the interrogations, essentially thumbing their
noses at the state and its laws. And the government did nothing.
The episode raised grave questions about the willingness of the
Israeli government to confront the ferociously racist swathe of the
country's rabbinate. )
The controversy began when an Israeli tabloid panned the book's contents
as "230 pages on the laws concerning the killing of non-Jews, a kind of
guidebook for anyone who ponders the question of if and when it is
permissible to take the life of a non-Jew." According to the book's author
, Rabbi Yitzhak Shapira,
"Non-Jews are "uncompassionate by nature"
and should be killed in order to "curb their evil inclinations."
...in defense of Torat Ha'Melech, insisting at the August 18 convention n Jerusalem that the book was no different than the Hagadah that all Jews read from on the holiday of Passover.
The Hagadah contains passages
about killing non-Jews and so does the Bible, Yosef reminded his audience.
"Does anyone want to change the Bible?" he asked
[...]
"The obligation to sacrifice your life is above all others
when fighting those who wish to destroy the authority of the Torah,"
bellowed Rabbi Yehoshua Shapira...
By refusing to cut Yosef loose, his party remains a central actor
in the Israeli government. Thus the statement by Netanyahu was not only weak.
It was false.

In what way ?
What's the difference between Islamic fundamentalism, and it's Christian, Buddhist, atheistic etc. counterparts ?
