I think the missile-9/11 attack premise has already been discussed, but there is very little merit. As for the likelihood that there was a missile originating from Albany, that's totally bunk. Albs is about 180 miles from NYC, and any missile traveling that distance would most assuredly be detected.
Additionally, the Albany Airport doesn't have any bunked weapons. The reserves have a few helicopters there, as do the local police. But other than that, there aren't any weapons to speak of - at least not any sort of air to air/sfc to air missile facilities that would be necessary to launch a weapon for such a long distance,
