Illegal aliens crossing the U.S.-Mexico border now have a cell-phone tool to chart the best route, find food and locate people who will help them enter the country – courtesy of a professor at a state-funded university.

Ricardo Dominguez, a University of California, San Diego tenured visual arts professor and activist, designed the Transborder Immigrant Tool, an application much like a global-positioning system used in cars, to help illegals find the best locations for food, water and groups to assist them as they sneak into America.

I can't hardly believe this one.

While I understand the reasoning behind the application — that it can save lives, I think the grounds for mis-use of this application far outweigh it's benefit.

I'm surprised the professor hasn't been brought up on charges for aiding and abetting terroristic activity. It's only a matter of time before someone uses this app to bring in weapons or drugs. Once that works, it's anyone's guess as to what can enter the country.

I search for this topic, but couldn't find a thread posted on the subject yet.

Wasn't sure where to post this thread. I settled for Current Events. If the mods know of a better suited forum, please move the thread.

Interesting post! I flagged it just having the funniest thread title of the week!

I wonder how long until they make an app that lets us track the people using the other app?

Technology rocks.

And soon, you won't even need an operational cell phone to use it:

As for the Transborder Immigrant Tool, Dominguez has said he hopes to make it available for free on the Internet.

The BEST part of the story.

All funded by American Taxpayer grant.

Gotta love America, the taxpayer pays for these professors, to help destroy our country.

Typical.

Part of living in a free society is that you have to put up with those who piss you off.

He pays taxes, too, so technically, it was y'alls two taxes that helped develop that.

Well let me see. Freedom of speech is fine.

But is not helping someone break the law, against the law? Should he not be arrested?

No, it's good, nothing to see here, move along.

As for the tax thing, using tax dollars to break the law, nothing big there.

Kinda like how the health care bill is being used to fund abortions, ALREADY.

Wait a minute, didn't Obama pass a Executive Order to prevent that?

Oh, that is right, we said that Executive Orders cannot over rule legislation. Hmmmm, so the government is using tax dollars for abortions which is against the law.

Now tell me, when the government and their professors acting in the government's interests to destroy the country and it's very laws, I guess one should shrug their shoulders and say darn. Oh well.

NOTHING TO SEE HERE. /s

Wait...

So does this mean I can get a government grant to create a program that will track down illegal immigrants and list places they are most probably going to be? Does ICE give out money like CrimeStoppers does?

I wouldn't worry about this if they can afford an iPhone I highly doubt they'll come in illegally as they can afford the correct entry. Even if unskilled, they willl be able to find a corporation willing to sponsor and exploit them. Now if you're talking drug cartels, well if they are using an iPhone won''t it be so much easier to find them? I mean they'll stand out like a purple elephant! LOL!

I wonder how long before someone hacks this application.

I can see it now a group of illegal jump out of the brush to get a ride on a bus that is from a group the application said is there to help them.

Then out of the brush on the other side of the road a couple of guys in border patrol uniforms walk over and drive the illegal to the border patrol station to return them to Mexico.

How does developing a humane way to help save human lives equate to ruining our country?

I am proud my tax dollars went to saving lives vs the endless war that takes them or corporate welfare (including politicians salaries).

I love America for the freedoms and safety it offers those upon her soil.

Your post sounds entirely Anti America!!

Boy, you people use such sweet hearted propaganda, I almost fell for it. Not.

Maybe if those folks stayed in their country and attempted to do something about it, instead of coming to our country and destroying it.

Yeah, not even going to answer your ridiculous what about the poor people in the desert ploy. Pffft.

Maybe if they entered properly and learned our laws and our Constitution, they might actually be worth something here to the country. As it is, they are just a bunch of free loaders.

Do you not get it yet? We are BROKE!

People like you and the other progressives and warmongers have BANKRUPTED US.

No pity party here.

Time for decisions to be made. If you are not able to make the hard decisions, you should not even open your mouth.

There was a huge increase of 43,000 jobs last month in the private sector and another whopping 250k unemployed.

How many illegals came in? Any idea?

Yeah, we need more labor here don't we?

You are just a genius.

Odd that in replying to a single person you would use the term "you people".

I think you can only embed from Google video and YouTube video.

Better to just post the url link.

Here is the link you provided, I think it will work-blip.tv...

Here is a discussion on it on YouTube-

Yes, it was intellectually untenable? Not.

As in you people that call for illegal actions to further an agenda, applying that this person falls into that category.

Maybe I should have been more specific on what I meant by you people.

Now that I have explained, is that better?

If you break the law to further an agenda, you are a criminal.

The END does not justify the means.

Would that, perchance, include the Founding Fathers, whose flag you have chosen as an avatar? They broke the law to further an agenda.

That flag is from one of the militias.

As for the founding fathers.

Do you know the history?

For years they attempted to get the king to address their grievances. For years they attempted to show him that representation and not serfdom was the way to go. For years they petitioned him and his court to allow a free and open society.

You are going to equate THAT to people helping invaders into our country?

Tell me, have these people attempted to change the government policy?

No, because the government policy was to do exactly what is happening now, looking the other way while criminals are flowing over the border at over 1.2 million a year.

Do not make this about ANYTHING except what it is about. Criminals helping other criminals.

Want to dispute my descriptors of the invaders? Thought not.

I am a single white female, not a you people. Please point to the ptopaganda in my post.

Yeah, not even going to answer your ridiculous what about the poor people in the desert ploy. Pffft.

Why would you? I did not have a ploy in my post.

Maybe if they entered properly and learned our laws and our Constitution, they might actually be worth something here to the country. As it is, they are just a bunch of free loaders.

Define freeloading. Most illegals I know of work ten times as hard as the average legal and make ten times less the money. And the illegal then turns around and pumps their cash back into our economy by consuming.(shopping rent electric walmart, etc). Where is the freeloading again?

Do you not get it yet? We are BROKE!

People like you and the other progressives and warmongers have BANKRUPTED US.

I am a warmonger? Get a clue, please, before you spout off know the poster you spout to. It is bad debate form toquote a dove and then tos in the warmonger. Did you read my post at all? And who is broke?

I am not broke, and my country is not broke. Until all commerce ceases, all malls and stores close, and we all stand in breadlines, I will continue my life without the fearmongering rhetoric ruining it.

Time for decisions to be made. If you are not able to make the hard decisions, you should not even open your mouth.

You are just a genius.

Thank you for the compliment, I have been called many things before, including genious. Nice of you to recognize that.

Now what decisions need to made? I myself am perfectly fine and in need of no decision making.

I am an American exercising the right of free speech.

Come try and close my mouth.

Up until this point I have not even addressed the topic of immigration in my posts to you. I have merely asked you questions asking for expansion upon what you had already said.

I do not agree with illegal immigration. I feel that illegal immigrants are breaking the law by being in this country.

Where our opinions begin to differ, from what I can gather, is the level of partisan hyperbole we are willing to participate in.

I do not consider illegal aliens to be "invaders". For the most part the ones that I have met were hard working people simply trying to make a living. Hardly a threat worthy of the title "invader".

My personal belief is that immigration reform is the most viable answer to the present problem.

And before you jump, I do not mean amnesty. I do actually mean reform.

As an aside, the way you end your posts with those little jabs, like "thought not" is kind of off putting and doesn't help to foster healthy debate at all.
