At a news conference early Wednesday evening, Manger said police shot the suspect approximately 10 minutes before Manger spoke to reporters, putting the shooting around 4:50 p.m. Manger said the "device" the suspect wore went off; however, Manger wouldn't elaborate on the suspect's condition other than saying he was in custody.

Did it 2 hours before they shot him, but got the time exactly right.

Due to the hostage situation in Silver Spring 495 was a nightmare. Picturesque of football tailgating. Took me two hours to get home. I am sad that someone is crazy enough to do such a thing and my sympathies go out to his family. (YES I SAID IT) Also I am relieved that all the hostages are ok. Everyone was following this at work and we were all dreading our commute. Anyway, traffic is breaking up and its back to the "regular" hell we all have come accustomed to love. Kenny71 out!

explosion? they were tanks, not belts...

A eco terrorist would not wear explosives to stab at the human population..a crowded city of millions...one guy...

he would carry a plague in those tanks...it went off but there was no explosion...so, what went off then?

Was this guy intelligent or connected enough to get ahold of any biological weapon? what was in the tanks?!
