what draws me as a highschool graduate... religion and politics do not mix, so basically that was a religious christian rally displaying psalms and stuff from the bible specifically targeted at christian americans I believe it's freedom for all not freedom for those who believe in god ONLY. sooooo glenn beck once again you are fulll of #@^&!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

disclaimer:
please do not think because i am posting videos of this event that i am a Glenn Beck supporter, endorse his ideologies, agree with his message, agree with his agenda, or appreciate his style or version of "journalism".

I'm just trying to be fair and balanced here, and help deny ignorance by sharing these videos of the event with fellow ATSers.

There have been a few anti-beck threads lately, and since this rally occurred yesterday, I thought I would offer up a collection of videos of the event. (and my personal opinion on Glenn Beck is well documented).

I just wanted to share a one stop shop for the actual footage of the event for ATSers.

This does not mean I am a supporter of Glenn Beck. I may certainly not be.

I'll reserve my personal commentary and opinions for after I've watched the videos a few times.

Awful lot of religion being mixed with politics, it's not going to turn out good.

I watched a few more vids, and I see Glenn saying the 8/28 date was an accident, but then claiming the rally will reclaim the civil rights movement. Is this a joke?

Yes, Glenn Beck says the date was purely coincidental on his part and rather that the date was "divine providence".

Oh. He talks to God, and hundreds of thousands run out to hear and see him. Oh wow, this is going to get really interesting. I'll have the beech chair and six pack ready to watch.

I don't know what america is anymore.

if america was a ship, who do you think has their hands on the steering wheel?

america has proven they do not need to formally declare war in order to participate in military operations in sovereign foreign nations.

why should we believe martial law would be formally declared?

why should we believe martial law would be formally declared via all main stream news agencies to hundreds of millions of americans and billions of people across the globe simultaniously?

this is not how martial law works, sorry.

so who do i think has their hands on the steering wheel of america's ship?

i found it curious the kind of "wave" that Glenn Beck chose to give to the crowd after his introduction, at the beginning of his speech.

seriously? Your picking on his "wave" now? Im sorry but that is verging on the edge of ridiculous.

Is it just because you guys despise all religions or what?

Whats wrong with gathering many religions together to make a statement?
Since when is this bad?

Isnt this what people want? People from all races and religions standing together to say "We wont take this anymore"?

Oh wait........its not a liberal doing it, or an agnostic........so that means it must be sinister........

Right.....

i just made an observation.

Is it just because you guys despise all religions or what?

you guys? what do you mean by "you guys"?

Whats wrong with gathering many religions together to make a statement?

where did i say it was wrong to do so?

Since when is this bad?

i don't assume to speak for all people and what they want.

People from all races and religions standing together to say "We wont take this anymore"?

huh hu.

Oh wait........its not a liberal doing it, or an agnostic........so that means it must be sinister........

Right.....

so, you think i would love Glenn Beck's rhetoric, views, and ideologies better if it was coming from someone who was pubicly portrayed as a liberal or agnostic?

"speak without fear"

"question with boldness"

i can pick my side of the fence and still be open minded enough to listen to what is being said from the other side of that fence.

i reserve the right to have my own opinions on Glenn Beck's ideologies and tactics.

i also reserve the right for others to have the right to form their own opinons, preferably based upon an informed decision making processes.

no where in the op did i attack Glenn Beck, or this event.
It was only my intention (in this thread) to present real video of yesterdays events, some coverage of the details leading up to yesterday's event, and the interview with Glenn Beck post yesterday's event.

Recently there have been numerous threads addressing Glenn Beck, and FOX news.

Since no die hard Glenn Beck supporter took the time to author a thread with all the coverage of his event yesterday in a neutral and unbiased way for ATSers, i thought i would, as best as i could.

i thought some ATSers may like to have a reference to yesterday's "Restore Honor" rally, coordinated by Glenn Beck.

Sure, absolutely, yes, i'm in favor of ATSers forming their own opinions. And even though i do not like Glenn Beck's perception of reality, does not mean i don't think there should be some material available for ATSers on Glenn Beck's rally available for them to view.

People can make their own decisions, but let those decisions be based upon the material available. if the material isn't available, make it available.

edited to add quote and first sentence response.

Didn't look like a lot of religions to me... looked like a lot of Christians. The guy in one of the interviews (the first one, Reason TV I think) said "Islam has no place here, they're here to kill us." So no, I really don't think it's that the OP or I or any other Glenn Beck hater thinks that it's wrong for a bunch of religions to come together and say 'let's take back the country' but this particular event WASN'T that, so don't say it was.

As for what this event was, since it wasn't a whole bunch of races and religions making a statement.... well, looked like a bunch of crazy Tea Partiers who somehow haven't noticed that Glenn Beck is a hypocritical hack who really says nothing worth anything while trying to make us buy gold, hahahahahaha

i believe i covered that in my second post in this thread when i said:

(and my personal opinion on Glenn Beck is well documented)

but this discussion isn't neccessarily about what i think about Glenn Beck, but rather about the event itself.
