Marlins’ profits came at taxpayer expense
Marlins’ profits came at taxpayer expense
The subtitle should have been "Cooking the books for fun and profit".
There's nothing in this article that any thinking person did not already know or suspect. The conspiratorial aspect of this story is that corporate
lies and deceptions are at the heart of nearly everything we see wrong in our world, country, states, cities and towns. These deceptions are accepted
as "common knowledge" and "the way the game is played". Our elected officials pave the way for such "schemes" and never, ever deal with these
criminals, and they are criminals, as such. Who did more damage to America and the world? Who destroyed more lives? The 9/11 terrorists or the bankers
and CEOs that crippled the economy?
Just for a moment, you are the mayor, governor or anyone of legal influence regarding one of these stadium projects. If you had all of the facts laid
out in this article at the moment this stadium was proposed, would you approve of the plan? If you had all of the facts once the plan was approved,
would you do anything to stop the project and bring those brandishing the legal fictions to light and justice? Would you just throw up your hands and
justify your innaction by saying "this is all legal and the way our system works"?
Go Marlins!
