Symphilids have bodies broken up into 14 segments and move about on
12 pairs of legs...

You're seeing the bottom of it. These guys are common in Texas, and love trees. (hide in bark a lot).
Surprised she didn't see that.

The object has to be in front of the treeline. It is too low to be in the sky. So that means it's close (assuming it is not a reflection).
I managed to get my friend to send me the "blackberry UFO" picture. The logo reflects off the glass of the window. This is the kind of reflection I am speaking of. Close range plastic/window etc.
Nice animation Freelance. The cover moving would explain it as you said but I'm not sure if that's what happened or not.

You're right it did move.
I think it moved to much to be a reflection, unless the "protective clear plastic cover" moved.
Good question. I'm pretty sure the answer lies in the angle of that photograph. It looks to me like there are more LEDs at the bottom not visible due to the angle of the photo, so the number of LEDs is about a match.

Concerning the IR light source reflection...
Why would the alleged UFO/reflection have 14-15 clearly distinct spots of light while the IR device has only 11 or 12?
