I agree with you and I tend to analyze each event when they happen. It seems more to me than 3 categories even.. it seems boundless.

Sometimes I'll be in a world entirely of fractals!.. sometimes I'll just appear somewhere and not in my room...sometimes i'll peel out of my body. As I said on an earlier post, the one above I think, that each place feels different and is experienced different to me. I have more power or less power, the density is different and the mind is different. The world mimics the physical world but then you have situations where you are just moving through a maze, get stuck to a wall and then suddenly realize something's going on, your asleep, and then the world turns into crazy shifting fractals.

I'll wake up and be staring at the back of my head when I do, like hovering 1 foot over my body and my vision is higher then it's supposed to be, and i'm like what the hell, i'm staring at my head!

I just pretty much don't even care to define it anymore and just enjoy each experience for its uniqueness.

Thank you for posting that. There are many angles I'd like to address without having to write a book here on my amateur opinion but you posted something I wanted to address and I like your point of view on the OBEs, egoless or actual a large pile of your energy leaving. I think of those like when you get electrecuted or something... but then again.. you could be dreaming? That's what I mean. Ultimately its up to you to decide because its too hard and kind of pointless to explain to others while being 100% sure of yourself.

I don't pretend to understand what dimension i'm in, i just tell people a way to mess around with them!

That's cool on the accuracy.

My room-mate at the time put something in this small box and I decided to take a nap one afternoon, project and see what was in it. I had 3 projections and the first time the box was huge and contained a liquid and the inside of the box was pink. The other times I don't remember. But when I woke I asked him it was like a pink bottle of perfume or something, basically I associated with pink and feminine. It was pink and feminine but it was his girlfriend's hair clip. So i was wrong but close, sounds like of what remote viewing is like.

Again with the associations, you think you are in the same world and it could be very similar only there is a few items in the bathroom that don't belong. Really cool and strange. That one incident I heard my family talking in the house and I didn't want to go upset because I didn't want to be seen as a ghost or something but when I woke up I realized they were all asleep.

When I project I talk to people and they think i'm acting silly or just don't understand me. I tell them i'm travelling dimensions and crazy stuff and they just don't get it. Its kind of funny. I wonder if a version of my self is waking up there and having to deal with the mess I've caused.

Thanks for that account.

Well dreams seem to carry some heavy subconscious elements and themes from our day. Its a bit different when they are lucid / projections etc whatever you think of them as because you are consciously trying to create a certain reality. Often times you go somewhere that just seems pretty foreign to your mind.

But i'd have to say no matter how obscure the dream, the symbolism is very strong and significant. And you are feeling bad about stealing that book. The book itself can represent knowledge or information or simply an item, and part of you is feeling some guilt over stealing it, and likewise you stole it over some greed or posessiveness you aren't consciously aware you posess. You can take it a bunch of different ways until it makes sense to you.

As far as being ethical while projecting. I find people tend to stare at me when I do something strange there like they think i'm crazy, they just stare blankly like "yeah, what, is this your first time flying around?".. but usually i'm doing something much more obscene. I act totally selfishly and impose my will on people. I act like a total child. When I wake up I think, damn.. that sorta felt like those were real people to me, or had some consciousness of their own, and I acted like a total prick. So I've tried to conduct myself a little better but it feels hopefully. It feels too much like being in a playground.

It's also an indicator of where I stand though in terms of mental focus and attachments. If we did everything we thought in this physical world it would be chaos, its practically like that already! When projecting I find all I have to do is think I want to be somewhere and I'm instantly running / moving there.. its like thought leads to instant action.

So I try to be ethical but it also shows me what my undisciplined mind unleashed is really like and i learn a lot from that.

I can't say for your dream experience, I have opinions but symbolism is a personal subject to me and I think the experiencer is best to interpret it.

well it sounds like you are an astro-traveler. you can program yourself not to be tired upon reentry. i would think it would be natural to be tired right after!! breathing diciplines increase vitality, and diet; some foods weigh you down more than others-check all that out!! happy trails!!

All I have to say is one thing...

Spirituality cannot be forced, it's as simple as that. I ended up successfully having OOBE's at a time when I least expected anything like it to occur. What I know to be true is that you can push someone in the right direction but they must figure out the truth on their own, otherwise it's a belief you have because of influence and not truth found from your higher self.

Wow. Thank you so much for posting this. I've been so close... and there IS a lot of fear and confusion that makes a person not "let go".

I've had that pulling your talking about in my head before!

It scared the crap out of me, and i did have sleep paralysis when it was happening.. at the time, i was not trying to A.P or anything, but i had built up alot of energy before hand while meditating... i didn't know what was happening... i fought it tooth and nail and tried to "wake up"

It felt like someone was trying to pull me out through my head! Is this what your describing...and to let go of?? *That* feeling, not to be afraid?

S&F
TY Again!

I learned how to astrally project mostly from a book called "Practical experiments in astral projection" by Idres Shah.
It basically taught you how to realise that you were dreaming without actually waking up. It worked very well.

Hello ,

I agree a lot with OP theory, i came myself to the same conclusions.
(especially about fear and sleep paralysis)

There is still one or two details i would like to debate :

The next day you may feel really tired all day and kind of 'funky'. This thing really can take a huge toll on your body's physical energy in the beginning, especially the more you struggle with the process.

- i think if you feel depleted the day after, that just mean you abused your capacity to project, (a bit like if your doing a marathon but you're not used to it), it's probably useless IMO.You need to project more times / longer each time progressively ,thus mostly avoiding side effects .

I almost forgot to mention. Don't do it when your going to bed at night. It will not work!!

- i was rarely able to do it in the morning like you seems to do
most of my experiences were right after going to sleep.

Also i want to say that 5 years ago , i found it pretty easy to project, and suddenly it stopped, i was unable to do it anymore :
i think there is probably subtle mind sets or maybe delicate energy balance that if not present, prevent you to project .

Your take on this OP ?

what is your opinion about Tinnitus? sometimes it is really annoying and can't concentrate...

I wanted to touch on this vibration thing before I ended this. I said earlier that it has become more gentle than in the podcast when I was a beginner. When you are laying in bed and hear that ringing in your ears referred to as "Tinnitis".. That is the sound. It just gets REALLY loud.. and your body vibrates. I have done certain meditations where this sound has taken on different variations with pulses and fluctuations. I think it really is like tuning into the sound of the electromagnetic field emanating from you.

It's interesting that you talked about this ringing sound in the ear. I can hear them easily if I focus on it. Actually after reading your post about tinnitis, I immediately heard the ringing in my ears.

I don't know though how to make my body vibrate higher. Will that automatically follow after hearing the ringing sound?

May I ask if does this work for everyone?
and is it possible to do it every day without getting tired?

I experienced Astral Projection once...

While I was going to bed..I feel asleep and i found out I was dreaming for an hour then my body felt light..and it moved ..I thought I was hallucinating..

I went outside and I saw my sister watching a certain scene of a movie..
After that I woke up..i went outside and was shocked to see that it was the exact scene...

And I didnt even know the movie..

Good post and I will be following it for a while. I have been working at this for the last several months, but like now have dry spells. There was a comment of what is being projected. I can't say I have been successful in the real sense, but I have what may be memories of flying around which is great.

About two weeks ago I was brought out of sleep with the vibrations which have become gentle and enjoyable, and was looking back at myself. I must say that it felt as though someone else was pulling the strings here, for I saw within myself a being of great brilliance, perhaps the sou. It was organic diamond in shape. I was also told that it was a sacred thing for a better term, that is us I suppose, pretty sacred beings.

Also when going in and out of the body, in the early stage, my cat would know when I was out and get excited, so there is more than just dreams here. Unfortunately I don't get much further than that, just out a little and them get stuck.

During the last CME, I woke with the vibrations and walked about for an hour with the same sensations, which could be started just by thinking. The next few days it would start up anytime of the day while fully awake but has calmed down at this point, thus now seems to be a resting point. I know this has something to do with my ability to move psy wheels from a distance, for then I concentrate on projection just using thought. Again thanks for the advice.

I can get waking paralysis right before bedtime. I can only do it while listening to shaktipatseer's youtube vids... I know it sounds weird but I cannot, no matter how hard I will them, move my arms or legs once it happens. But from there I don't know where to go, I'm extremely relaxed, I see brilliant colors and fractals and sometimes faces, but I am still in bed, no trip out of body for me. I have been doing this for the past 3 weeks and it has put me in a happier place, but slightly disappointed that I can't take it further. I have tried the lucid dream techniques described in the videos (waking early and going back to sleep), but it never works for me, I can never regain conscious control of my dream.

This subject facinates me

I have been reading up on the 3rd eye and this sort of thing for a few weeks now but have never experienced it as far as i know.

I know ive had a couple of lucid dreams but today i could not tell you what they were about as they were years ago possibly.

I find sleeping VERY hard to do anyway. I find it hard to fall asleep...can take anything up to 6 hours to drift off once im in bed.

I smoke gods herb most nights but this doesnt seem to aid in my sleeping as much as you may think.

I understand the fact that we have the ability to go into dream like states/OBE/Lucid etc but i find it VERY hard to concerntrate enough to bring these on.

I have been trying to open my 3rd eye but its just not working

I was told that you have to kind of look up and to the centre of your head with your eyes closed to open your 3rd eye.???

Ive tried this for several nights before going to sleep. I do get visions in my mind but i think thats all they are. I see strange colours and shapes appear in my mind, i see the universe as though im travelling through it....but i dont think this is an OBE or astral projection as i feel im making this in my own mind. Ive not seen myself from another perspective.

Im going to have a look through all the vids that have been posted here to see if i can work out what im doing lol.

Great Post btw

CavemanDD,

This is by far the best explanation I've ever read. Clear and simple.
I've been doing this since I was a child but never knew how to describe it in detail.

Thanks

Without reading your mind and memory that sounds similar to my experiences. Try imagine seeing yourself come out of your body. Or try increasing the vibrations, this may or may not be a key step but I find it constructive. Make the feeling/sound higher in frequency, higher pitched... its not hard, just want it to be higher and it will be. It makes it easier to "roll out" "peel out". I find rolling out of the body to the side was one that worked well for me. Mostly I think its a lot of mind games.

You'll figure it out. I don't understand it myself either, I just know what works for me and provokes that experience.

It can be very intense and sometimes the reaction is to just make that feeling stop, the vibrations... or like someone is pulling at your head, that's new to me, I never had.. well the feeling like I was being pulled by someone externally.

Peace.

I'd have to agree with you on the side-effects. I deduced that they reduced over time because I had more energy, was resisting less and was just getting more used to the experience. And abusing like you said. One time I had what seemed like 20 projections in a row, it lasted an hour before I woke myself up because I got confused, in some dream world I could see my mom checking my pulse and some people standing around, like maybe I was gone so long and they thought I was dead? Confusing stuff, but I woke myself up from that hour of interesting FUN. My head felt... WEIRD. My first waking thought was "ok I over did it."

It's interesting you had success at night. I only had maybe one occasion where I went to bed and woke into that sort of thing, either that or it happened randomly around 3 am. However, one time I meditated for 8 hours and when I fell asleep I went right into that experience.

I also found once while traveling, I woke up at around 5 am and didn't think I could sleep so I started meditating, balanced all the chakras, but then I decided to go back to sleep and it was very lucid. I've heard of others who have experienced this as a result of chakra balancing.

I went a long time without any projections just like you but what got them going again is that I had to realize something about them. I had to actually care, I had to actually want to learn something about it. After a while it becomes a novelty and when it does, that's when i was having them less. I don't have many these days but I haven't really cared to even try either, I think there's a connection!

So maybe you need to get motivated again and re-assess what can be gained. Like Highlyoriginal said, he doesn't think spirituality can be forced and I agree... and I think our subconscious has a say in what we experience and we really do experience projections for a reason other than simple novelty.

I don't know, maybe you just got to realize its something you need to learn from. I'm not sure, good luck.
