so since china and russia aren't concerned about iran nuking other nations than the threat most likely isn't there. This to me tacitly points to the US and isreal as the conspirators with an agenda against iran making them into a threat they aren't

hypothetically-It's like me doing martial arts in the park. just because I have the ability to kick your ass doesn't mean I have any want to kick your ass. so what rational would the other person have in trying to get me arrested or something unless it's part of their agenda to do so. I'm not bothering you by learning to defend myself or better myself, so what would be the rational in just you seeing me as the boogie man when 90 percent of the people at the park don't. not sure if I communicated my analogy well but you guys get the gist.

Israel drew first blood over 60 years ago and had killed, terrorized and maimed those people in Palestine until they finally retaliated. I personally do not believe in war, I do believe in protecting oneself, family and country but I am always in the side of the people that were invaded. Not the aggressors.

The Zionists are aggressors. They started it and its the Palestinians right to protect themselves.

There may not be open war, but it could well see Israel fall and the US be deprived of its war making abilities. Lest we forget, we are not the biggest dog in the park!

Even their changed translation of

the Imam said that this regime occupying Jerusalem must [vanish from] the page of time

Basically is saying the nations that occupied Jerusalem should be removed. The nation of Israel. They were talking about the capital. Why? Because they claimed that spot. Everyone's claimed that spot. It should just be UN territory and not owned by anyone.

The fact remains they want to make disappear the regime that controls Jerusalem. IE, Israel.

regime –noun
1. a mode or system of rule or government: a dictatorial regime.
2. a ruling or prevailing system.
3. a government in power.
4. the period during which a particular government or ruling system is in power.

No, I think that means, the LEADERS (regime) that controls Israel.

By the way, you don't say where you live in the states, or where your family originated from, (England, France, Germany,Sweden, etc.) or when......but lets say your family along with thousands of your neighbors were deported to Australia in 1790 from Birmingham, England. (Australia was used as a penal colony by England, lots of people were wrongly declared criminals and sent there to help settle the country, killing and displacing the indigenous population.)

If those people in Australia whose families were forced out of Birmingham decided they had a right to go back, would it be right or fair in your mind if the people currently living in Birmingham were forced to leave to accommodate people who had not been living in the area for 200 years or more?

Would you agree that it was fair if a relative of someone who lived on your property 200 years ago came back and tried to take the property because their family had originally owned it?

Think about it, and put yourself in the shoes of the Palestinian people. What right does anyone have to take their property away from them?

The Palestinian people have a God given right to be there, NOT the Jews, a large portion of whom have no prior connection to the area at all. The Jews gave up their rights to the land due to their disobedience.

If the Jews are basing their right to be there on *God given rights* according to the Bible (or Torah) then they have to go all the way with it, and recognize the other side; the Bible says their occupancy was based on certain conditions being met.

You do know that the Hebrews occupancy of the land was conditional upon their obedience to God, don't you? They disobeyed and their right to be there was stripped from them, by God.

And, by the way, I am just one of the "little people" here in the states, and I care about the Palestinians, and the Israelis.

No one should be forced to live the way both populations are living. This is because the people in power don't care about the ordinary people, the "little people".l

Back on topic.........Iran, unlike Israel, has not attacked, or even threatened any country, and they have signed the Nuclear Nonproliferation Agreement, which Israel has NOT signed. If attacked, however, Iran does have the right to defend itself.

I would love to see a peace agreement enacted, but since the players involved are NOT the actual players that SHOULD be involved, I don't hold out much hope of that happening.

God Bless

The manner in which Iran acts I dont think has anything to do with being "middle east". They are Persian, and would most likely take exception to the comparison.

WhileI somehwhat agree with your thoughts, I do find it intresting that a country, Iran, who says there plans ae peaceful, never loose a second when it comes to spewing their doom and gllom scenario towards Israel.

So yeah, I think Israel should be concerned until Iran throws Achminijedad out.

And before them was someone else on the land. No land is legitimate. All land is stolen. And all land was stolen from those who stole it and before them. If you want to go far enough back, Neanderthals are the first people to own Israel. But they're dead now. To say a nation is illegal because it stole land is to call all nations illegal for all nations have stolen land. Who owns the land is hardly a care for me. Just don't take land. Accept things as they are now and don't transgress again. That's the only way to go about it.

Iran has made it perfectly clear that they blur the line between regime and people. Only recently have they begun to differentiate the two and I have all the reason to believe that they're only doing that to cover for their image sake.

All and all I don't care about the issue. The world would be better off if everything from Syria to the Suez canal was nothing but radioactive wastelands. if it was up to me the whole area would never have been given independence. It would be turned into a UN state. History teaches that the area only ever sees peace when occupied by another nation. As far as my religion goes, Jesus said quite well that the land was no longer important. Jews can live there because it was promised to them. But by what nation is there is of no concern to me. Make it a UN state and forget about the arguing all together. You'll never see peace there until its a crater or a UN state.

No you'll see the area turned into a crater and the US back up and running in about 10 years. Nothing much would change other than a bunch of Jews and Muslims would be sad their precious land was nuked and now there's nothing left.

Good riddance I say. My religion tells me that what nation owns that land does not matter because the time of nations building is over. I don't really like the idea of dividing the lands between people and Christ said he was king so nobody owns that land but God. Israel and Palestine have made it perfectly clear they are both barbarians. Let them enjoy the Barbary states they've made for themselves.

I don't think that is true.

Remember all the pictures of the Israeli soldiers shooting the Palestinians? You remember, hundreds of pictures over time of Evil Isreali's shooting poor defensless rock throwing Palestinians. What the pictures didn't show, where the guns that where picked up by the Palestinians whilst the camera man looked the other way. Yes, they did that and the media was in on it. Just like when after a bomb, a camera man put a mickey mouse doll in the rubble and published the picture, he got caught doing it too.

I don't beleive for an instant that they are shooting just homemade rockets. They are getting some high tech hardware from all over the middle east. Palestine and the dudes of north are both doing it.

ask yourself how'd Russia have lived so long, & have had so Great Land. answer is very simple: Russia's always respected, & has learned cultures/souls of different Nations. there ain't about you like Iran's culture or not -- they have own way & rights to keep it like Israel, U.S.A etc have own. Russia ain't had a idea about Iran's or Israel's death. prime problem, now, is each of those three countries have had own mad doggies who lust to run Wheel of Big War -- that must not be accepted in any ways.

I am pro-Israel. A LOT of ATSers, and Earthlings in general, aren't. But I'm ok with that. Each to his own, I say. But I am also pro-Iran-getting-nuclear-power. It's good to see them going green! Nuclear power≠nuclear weapons. Israel and the rest of the (illegal) U.N. need to back off on this one.

There's an "innocent" middle eastern country?

Which one?

I've been to several of them, but evidently not the one you're alluding to...

Actually, Tel Aviv is the capitol of Israel. Jerusalem/Al Quds is the major bone of contention, as you so astutely observe, and so is often mistaken for the capitol.

That patch of ground has been under contention for something over 5000 years, LONG before Islam laid a false claim to it (or islam even existed TO claim it), and even before Israel, under whatever name it was using at the time, laid claim to it. The owners previous to the Israelis are, I believe, no longer among us. Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Canaan, Phoenicia, et al, all gone now.

Byzantine Empire, between the Roman and Islamic occupations - gone now too, as is Rome.

Looks like Israel and Islam are the last men standing to contend for it.

In the end, there can be only One.

To say that Iran has nothing but peaceful intentions with that reactor is a joke they have been unveiling more and more weapons over the past months they have already said that they want to wipe israel from the face of the earth so to say their intentions are peaceful is nothing more than ignorant rhetoric coming from people that dont know what their talking about and havent done research into the matter why would they continue to unveil new weapons if their intentions were so peaceful?

Do you really believe that a nation with some of the largest oil reserves (Iran) want nuclear power for peaceful reasons? Wake up!

Canada is not shy of natural resources of both gas and oil and also has nuclear power stations .
So with such large energy reserves ..... why does Canada maintain a nuclear energy capacity and export so much of its energy to the U.S.A ?

If the Iranian government played nice in the sandbox, there would be trust. But they don't.

The ending to this story is predictable.

The rules in the "sandbox" are not evenly applied, it is the source of much antagonism in the region imho. For rules to have any gravitas, they must be seen to be adhered to by all parties. Playing favourites to assuage European guilty consciences, has become a ruinous endeavour.

Israel most certainly needed support both militarily and diplomatically in its infancy but i don`t believe such lopsided support is necessary today.Israel is virtually a modern day Sparta complete with nuclear weapons.

America can no longer play the role of impartial mediator and also chief supplier of Hi Tec Military Hardware and frequent U.N vetoes. This position is untenable.

The larger players have got to eventually step back ... make it known the rules are now being applied evenly ..... and deal severely with any transgressors whomever they may be.

Am i being too naive ? .......... perhaps.
