What Makes Ground Zero (and the surrounding area) SACRED Ground?

However.

If memory serves (and it has been a little while), there are several bars, quite a few pizza places, a Staples, a strip bar, at least one burger king, and any number of shops selling random souvenir crap - all closer to the WTC site than the proposed mosque site. That is what I remember, I`m sure there is more.

Did I eat a slice at a Holy Pizza Shop? Should I have saved the notepad and pen I bought at Staples, and kept them as Holy Relics, as I bought them on Sacred Ground?

I would bet many or all of those establishments were there BEFORE 9/11.
And last time I checked those 3000 people weren't murdered by pizza chefs,strippers,street vendors, or Burger King employees, were they?

this topic made me think of sacred burial grounds, the ashes of many were spread over a large area on 9/11

June 8, 2010 (San Diego’s East County) – The Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians has been granted a restraining order in the Superior Court of California-San Diego County to halt the Padre Dam Municipal Water District from "further desecrating a recently-unearthed Kumeyaay burial and ceremonial ground," a statement issued by Viejas announced. Padre Dam Municipal Water District is constructing a new reservoir and pumping station at the site, which is on approximately two acres south of I-8 near Lake Jennings Park Road and Old Highway 80.

Pearl harbor is still a memorial site.

Desecrate the ground at your own risk.

if you don't like the word sacred , substitute the word respect.

In March of 1983, the New Jersey Department of Transportation started construction in a field just off Route 47 in Deptford, between Mantua and Franklin Township, to build a new 7.2 mile stretch of Route 55. Two months later, beginning in May, mysterious deaths began to befall workers involved with the project.

There was a story of the bluff, the NAs warned not to build on the sacred bluff, that it offered protection for the area since before colonization in the 1980s they built on the bluff that's the year the tornado wiped out the town.

its not sacred ground. we are not at war with Islam. 'They' are not at war with Christianity, or even the American people.

Oh really? That is very interesting and creepy if true.

Yes indeed this is sacred ground…I don’t need to show how this ground is sacred, and what sacred means…many did in the previous posts.

When I first heard of this mosque being build so close to the WTC site I thought, wow, a bit insensitive, and as a religion… hmmm (and I do recognize that it was the extremists that are the terrorists… but it’s still a connection to this particular religion)

But then what really bothered me was later when I found out the name was to be “Cordoba House”. Whoa..

The “Cordoba” Mosque was built on the site of a Christian church to commemorate the Muslim conquest of Spain. To me anyway, Cordoba seems a symbol of Muslim conquest.
